Take your Pick(ford) as we look to add....

Sandro and Niang in the next few days.

Oh my, no tapping up needed

Nothing we have paid yesterday will be considered unusual or a massive overpayment by the end of this window in my opinion, the only unusual thing about this is that we're going early this window which isn't really the traditional Everton way.

The reds will spend over £60m on Van Dijk before the season starts(Mark my words, he will still leave Southampton to go there!) and the usual bitter reds who are here with their expected bilge will be decrying anyone who suggests they've overpaid for Virgil.

This is a new era, the new TV deal is giving clubs a load of cash and the prices we will see will be huge, and the fact is until we see these players out on the pitch for their new clubs you cannot say they are a waste of money with 100% accuracy.

In reality if you think of the age of Pickford at 23, if we were to get 10 years out of him and there is nothing to suggest so far that he is not a talented keeper then £3m per season is surely acceptable.

And I offer a further guarantee, when the window shuts in August neither of yesterday's two purchases will even be in the top 10 highest fees paid for this transfer window!

Would hardly call the signings of Pickford and Klaasen shopping in poundland but if calling it that suits some people's agenda's, so be it.

Sandro is good value at £6m (if we can sign him) and is wanted by Atletico, they've not got a bad record in strikers have they? Also, some good bargains to be had around that price, Dele Alli anyone?

Then of course you have others saying we've paid over the odds for Pickford, well, only time will tell, most people (including me tbh) thought Chelsea screwed us over when they sold us Lukaku for £28m, hmmmm, didn't turn out to bad in the end, did it?

Yes, there can also be flops around £30m, last transfer window we luckily dodged a massive bullet in Sissoko.

I'm meh over Niang but Koeman, Walsh etc. have seen something and could well improve him, besides, has to be better than Kone and Niasse!

Just glad we're getting our business done early for once

I remember the RS on here mocking us because they got Sturridge and Balotelli for the same price as we paid for Lukaku, just shows you what they know.

Bit like Perez & Nolito did well in Spain yet couldn't get near the Arsenal or City Teams!

So, wtf has that got to do with anything? If all clubs thought like that no one from outside the UK would be bought.

Not overly fussed on Niang to be honest.

He ticks all the boxes but I find it strange no other teams has come in for him, there has to be a downside somewhere.

Maybe a buyout clause?

Who cares, short term gain.

While we identify long term goals.
