Tax Evasion

It's a national scandal that the government allow the likes of Amazon, Google and Uber to operate tax-free in this country especially when you consider the state of the roads, public transport North of London and of course, the NHS.

With Mourinho being charged with tax evasion and his countryman, Ronaldo begging for a Premier League club to take him after similar charges. Are we now going to be a tax haven for footballers and football managers who criminally evade taxation?

Of course, United don't pay any tax either as they're now registered in the Caribbean despite claiming to be a Manchester club.

Disgusting state of affairs.

How much corporation tax do you think City have paid on their £500m+ losses over the last 10 years?

Moral high ground and all that.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
14 out of 20 clubs didn't pay corporation tax.
....

Man City have received tax rebates on recent profits due to huge historical financial losses.

Yet you're talking about moral high ground?

Rally sad that ignorant people comment on issues where they haven't got a scooby doo.

I get the whole t!t for tat partizan thing, but if you're an adult who pays your share of tax then you simply can't defend what United, and so many other clubs do. It's indefensible. It should massively feck you off.

Winds me right up.

Taxed on my wage taxed on my overtime taxed on my bonus.

It does. And I note that none of our fans have really much to say on this, so they agree or are ashamed of it.

The government should pass a rule whereby if your corporation plays sport in U.K. You have to pay tax, none of this dodging. Utd get far too much cash as it is, they should pay their share. Not like they can't afford it.

It's said if you tax them then will move elsewhere, let them then and alienate the customers who will stop drinking there cofeffe using their services hitting their profits.

We as a consumer and voting society are sheep week divided sheep to lazy to work together on mass to instigate change and give the big business and political types a bloody nose.

Agreed LQ, shouldn't be pandering to them.

For me, along with the mega corps, I'd be targeting sports, particularly football for some extra tax. Higher rate for footballers earning north of 20k a week.

Clubs will be disqualified unless the start paying tax. Have to be registered here to play in this country, no exceptions.

Too soft on these corporations. Look how much football makes, and they are not shy in ripping off fans, so the tax man should have big crosshairs on them.

Spoken like a guy who pays for his ticket, it's a rip off, the food at city although excellent is extortionate.

Reall fans being priced out of the game yet the clubs and players make millions.
