Adnan Januzaj

Off to Real Sociedad for £9.7 million apparently.

Once upon a time people (including myself) thought he was the real deal. Whether it was a developmental ceiling he hit or it's just pure poor attitude, the guy probably won't be anywhere near to the level we projected upon him back in 2013.

Good luck in Spain 👍

He was the only shining light in United's darkest period (in recent times).

Became hugely overhyped because of this but maybe another fresh start will finally see him push on.

The lad provided us with great excitement and entertainment in the U21s and had the odd moment for the seniors before heading out on loan.

If the reports are correct, we've recouped a good fee, and hopefully for him he can kick start his career in a new environment. I can see his game suiting Spanish football.

Good luck to him.

I hope we have added a buy back option and future sale add-ons. Sad to see him not make it but that's the problem with some youngsters. They get big headed and selling them on could do them well. Just look at Lukaku and De Bryne for example.

I never rated him that much....

Remember when England wanted him

Getting 10m for him after the last few seasons shows how mad the market is.

We don't do buy back clauses as it defeats our main objective of massively overpaying on a player and embarrassing ourselves beyond belief, as outlined by Ed at the last AGM

We make it all back in shirt sales

£9.7m is a good amount to sell him for, Spurs work on a business model where they develop certain youth members and if they aren't good enough sell them on (Townsend, Mason, Carroll, Caulker etc) yet if you can make £5m+ off each it is a good way to add to the piggy bank. I don't think your club quite needs this considering the amount of cash it has to spend though.
