Next Season

Whilst we await news of any new signings in the next couple of weeks, here is an update on players whose seasons were cut short due to injury or who have subsequently been injured after the season ended..

Erik Lamela will definitely miss the start of the season, and in all honesty it would be difficult to even imagine when he will play again. If he does manage (which I really hope he does) to pull on the shirt again for us, it will be almost like signing a new player. His current estimated return date is given as around 14th October 2017. In the current climate, I will believe it only when I see him on the pitch warming up for a PL game!

Danny Rose also looks like he will miss the start of the season, due to having a very similar hip problem to Lamela. Rumours persist that he may have to have an operation. Although physio-room.com suggest August 19th as a potential return date. Again getting Danny back will almost feel like signing a new player!

Harry Winks has already started his preseason, 10 days ahead of the rest of the squad,. Everything seems to be okay with his ankle and here is his own view on his progress.

“I’m obviously still rehabbing and I’ll be in a good 10 days or so before everyone, just getting myself fit, testing my ankle and making sure it’s okay to go back into full training.
“I’ve almost got a pre-season before a pre-season just to get myself fit so hopefully I can come back in the best shape I can possibly be in."

Son Heung-min should be available one or two games into the season, with a tentative return to training of July 10th.

Mousa Dembele was left at home for the Hong Kong trip so that he could have minor surgery on his left ankle. He played for months with quite a bit of pain, hence his being withdrawn after around 65 minutes in some matches. Hopefully this surgery will mean he is pain free and I look forward to him once again showing why he is one of the best midfielders in Europe. He is currently on holiday with Jan Verthongen & family, appears to be walking around okay, although he is wearing a protective boot.

Surely N'Koudou is off?

See that all abit pathetic imo he said himself that he knew Arsenal was a big thing but didn't realise it was the same for Chelsea.

This kind of stuff doesn't and hasn't ever bothered me.

just like when Hossam Ghaly threw the shirt to the ground.

Such an uproar over absolutely nothing.

It would bother me if Kane or someone did it, but N'Koudou clearly doesn't have a clue about Spurs hatred towards Chelsea and why would he? His best mate is Batshuyi anyway. Plus its hardly like he is a key member of the team.

To be honest, it's a bit silly with N'koudou. He knows full well who Chelsea are, they just beat us to the title and dumped us out the FA cup. Even if he doesn't know the rivalry (which I find a bit hard to buy), it's a bit of a dumb thing to do.

Doesn't bother me hugely though, and I don't think he has a future with us anyway really, so no big deal either way.

Big season for Winks. I rate him massively and oh how England need a player like him in midfield.

He's going to be mustard if he stays injury free. I'd have him at LFC I'm a heart beat.

I don`t think we will see many players coming in, maybe 2 or 3 in and maybe 2 or 3 out.

Agree about Winks, I am expecting more improvement from him this year. Also, I think we could see a lot more of Onomah, he was impressive in his preferred role for the England kids and if he can step up it will be like a new signing.

The injuries are a worry, hopefully we can bring a couple of top quality players in to thicken out the squad.

I agree it was probably a bet between the 2 players if I win you wear this and vice Versa . No harm done .
