Taylor gone

Joining Burnley.....

"The mere mention of his name is usually enough to spark furious debate about a player...'

Who knew, eh?!?!

"That might not please people to hear, but it’s the truth."

How about those facts?!?!?!

As LIW has noted recently, anytime anyone leaves the club to go anywhere, there is a segment of fans who will tell us how rubbish that player or manager was.

So, it is not surprising AS got the abuse he got.

Take a look at the link above, we were in financial meltdown and ManU were the only club that wanted to pay up!..

Whether Smith wanted to go there or not is crapigal, he was forced on to ManU so he took what he could!..

I don't blame him for what the club did, I thank him for what the club got!..

His transfer fee and money he didn't take, we'll never know what that did for the club, and any Leeds fan that cant see that, well, our club is still here!..

Again

He wasn't forced on them

He was desperate to move to them

The money didn't save the club at all, next you'll be saying ken bates saved us

I didn't rate him while he was at the club and didn't rate him after he left. He was just a average player who worked hard, nothing more nothing less

I don't blame him at all for going there, it was a no brainer

But please stop with he didn't want to go there, it's a complete lie

LIW, the truth is somewhere between what you are saying and what we have been saying.

1. He understood that if the club were relegated, he would likely leave the club.
2. He stated he would never have left if they were not relegated.
3. He stated he was willing to stay to get the club back to the Prem.
4. Moan U came up with the highest offer for him payable in cash right away.
5. The club encouraged him to go there for the above reasons.
6. He chose to go there, he was not forced.
7. He gave up his share of the transfer fee.

Agree?

As to his abilities...

Anyone disagree that he played his heart out for the club?

Would you rather have a great talent who did not care and did not exert himself or an average skill who gave everything he had every game?

LIW, how bad were the finances at the club at that time?..

How much did we get for him?..

How much of what he was entitled to did he "leave" in the clubs hands?..

Why were the club desperate for ManU to take him on?..

I think it comes to somewhere around the point off the club being in so much crap and if I ain't mistaken it had a time limit to pay a lump sum or face more crap!..

The club were in a much worst state than you seem to think,(yep think because nobody on this board knows exactly how close we came to folding!)but the club needed that money and ManU paid it straight away!..

So, anybody can disagree with everybody, but don't tell people they're wrong for believing he didn't want to go there, the club forced him into that corner and he got the best he could out off it!..

You know what, I think its easy for people to sit here and say "no way would I go there", ain't it good they're not playing because I dare say if they were and ManU came knocking, 99% of them/you's would!..

Money talking, it don't matter who its talking to, everybody would listen, wouldn't you Rich?..

LIW
as far as I am aware Alan gave up his share of the transfer fee amounting to £1m to help the club does that sound like a greedy player not to me anyway
Fergie planned for him to take the Roy Keane roll unfortunately he got a very serious injury at Liverpool
and in truth was never the same again
He was a true Leeds fan as far as I believe
