I didn't want to do this article the other day as it would have looked like a reaction to the debate that was going on in MTC's thread but the dust has settled so i'd do it now.
Now i have felt this for a while but the recent comments regarding Bakayoko and Lindelof has made me want to write this, how the feck did he become a coach here? and what on earth must Carlo and Guus have thought if he was saying similar things while assisting them He's lucky two mild men like Guus and Carlo were there when he was, imagine Jose and Conte with him?
Even when he was with us whenever he did post match interviews he sounded like a fan who won the chance to be an assistant manager for a week. Also rumour has it Roman sacked him because he responded to criticism of performances by saying something along the lines of "we have won the double, what more do you want?", if that was the attitude of one of the coaches no wonder we were riddled with complacency that season.
I respect him as part of our history as a player and (despite not rating him as one) a coach, but i have to wonder if he had any responsibility outside of player relations because most of the thing's he comes out with are simplistic for the standard of a football fan, let alone a fully qualified coach.

I have no idea how influential he was as a coach but I did hear him described as BBC coach(Balls, Bibs and Cones)
Not exactly ripped up trees in any manager job he had.

Some much wrong about this article.
Is this the Jose who's defensive substitutions cost us countless points, who's post match interviews were more in consistent with the ramblings of a Broadmoor inmate and who's modern day man management is shambolic?
You may not have a high opinion of Ray Wilkins but I'd suggest Jose is no yardstick to measure him against!!

I'd heard that it was because he had a turnout in Mr. A's karsi.

Wasn't he the man who supposedly ran things lowkey under Grant in 08-09? That certainly used to be the narrative a few years ago

Can't knock Ray, abit outdated nowadays but chelsea through and through and was a wonderful footballer.
Is he still our youngest ever captain?

The only reason he was brought in was to bridge a language barrier for Scolari and eventually Ancelotti.
I get what you're saying regarding him as a member of the day to day stuff for a club like us, out of his depth for sure when you hear his opinions as an analyst. But he's just so damn likeable, irritatingly so in fact

That was Clarke, but Wilkins would've also done a better job.
Grant was a con artist, and props to him, we fell for it.
