No, funnily enough it was called Chicken Weekly, with a picture of chickens on the front and a happy farmer next to them. No idea what made them so happy however. Perhaps I should buy the magazine to find out.

You don't get it.. just because the other clubs outside of england have shown no interest does not mean it's reasonable to underrate a player like van dijk. I'm still waiting for clear reasons why you don't rate him.

If you read my previous comments on this article re. Van Dijk, you will not find anywhere where I say I don't rate him or even underrate him.

In fact, my first comment on the subject says I am not convinced he's all that he's made out to be, meaning nobody has said or written anything I have seen or heard that has me convinced he is worth £60m-£70m.

That is quite different from me saying I underrate him. I haven't seen enough of him to have an informed and unbiased view either way. So I'll wait until I see something that convinces me he's worth the hype.

The way some people on here and in the media go on about him he is the best CB the PL has ever seen and that his skill-set makes him a player that would grace any team. I'm not seeing that and evidently none of the European giants are either.

Hope this clears up your confusion.

I was referring to you not rating him as hihgly. That was the confusion. No harm done really.

No defender is worth £70m. It's merely the stubborn stance of a club that doesn't want to sell.

The media is quite accurate when they underline his completeness. He's by far the most complete modern defender in the league with virtually no weaknesses. He also has been the best cb for the last two seasons imo, hitting the ground running after his switch to the Premier league. Ofcourse he doesn't play for a big team, but his individual performances and consistency against world class opposition aswell as his skillset made him standout.

I also feel that he has the potential to be the best cb in the world after doing his thing on a bigger stage - a podium where I don't think the pressure will get to him since he stepped up every time he was expected to perform on a higher level. And he still makes it look too easy.

Van Dijk is not the most complete modern defender in the league by a long stretch.

Alderweireld has the lot, there is a good reason we have had the meanest defence for 2 yrs straight since he signed, and Saint were 1 shy of it when he was there.Not only is he a fantastic defender, but he also hits a ball as sweetly as you like from the back.

Luiz and Azpi were fantastic for Chelsea last year too. Vertonghen has been outstanding for 2yrs.

lol Liverpool have signed plenty of players better or players with much bigger reputations than Salah and Keita over the years.

Van Dijk would be a great signing but it doesn't seem like there is much competition to get him so it's kind of a no brainer for him

VVD is getting hugely overrated during this transfer window. He's a quality CB, but the best in the world? He's not even the best in the Prem. He hasn't even played since about Feb or whenever it was he got injured, and a period of absence always elevates a players greatness (you'd think Cazorla was Maradona the way the gooners go on about him these days).

I do not remember being impressed with Van Dijk at all when we went there and won 4-1 at Christmas, his early goal aside.

Alli outjumped him for a goal too
