Says we only got Jose to appoint a big name after City got Guardiola and it was a mistake.

I don't get why some people rate this guy as a pundit, he just comes across as miserable bitter old sod.

Not always. In some of the bigger games we sat back and tried to stifle the opposition much like we do under Jose
..................................
Good grief. Even in our darkest days under SAF we never played anything as dire as the rubbish Jose mostly served up after Christmas.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Me and Vidic on a roll today.
I saw stuff from Utd in the first game against us and the game against City that I have never seen in my lifetime from a Utd side and I'm going all the way back to Big Ron.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You obviously haven't watched all of our games.
Our away game against City in 2012 was as dire as anything we saw under Jose. Against Barca away in 2008 we offered almost nothing.
And go watch a lot of our games against Arsenal under SAF. We purposely sat back and broke.
I understand you get a kick out of slating Jose after he humiliated you guys in 2014 and you have a grudge against him but the fact is, we made the CL and you haven't.
Wum us all you want but the fact is in January you plunged lower than we ever did under Jose by losing at home to Swansea, Wolves 😂 and Saints.
You needed a dodgy ref decision to save you at home to relegated Boro just to scrape into the CL qualifying round.
Those in glass houses Robbing, those in glass houses 👊🏾
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah that would make sense if it was me managing.
I never saw Utd have 6 players in a line guarding the peno box ever and in the games under Jose I didn't see much breaking going on either.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Judge Jose after he's finished with us rather than after taking over a side of players very much far from what he wants and who were trained into sideways passing by LVG.
-------------------------
This is such a weak excuse Robb. We saw for about 6 weeks that the players were more than capable of playing exciting and expansive football under Jose. He just changed his approach after we failed to win several games due to poor finishing. The poor football was predominantly down to Jose, yet you fall to your default position of pointing the finger at LVG.
LVG can perhaps take some of the blame for the poor football in Jose's first few month's in charge, but not beyond that. It is all excuses from Jose and as usual you fall for it.

Do you honestly think we'll see more of the same from Jose this season though?
I saw a guy inherit a squad where a vast number of it wasn't what he wanted or needed and thus used damage limitation until he could bring in what he wanted.
Like I said, judge him after he brings more of his own players in. Ones he trusts to carry out his game plan.

It was clear early on it wasn't to be. Jose had already done more in one season than LVg did in two

To some extend, LVG was new to the league so needed more time.
Oh... and Jose spent more, much more though than LVG to finish exactly in the same position.

I am hopeful that we will see better football this coming season, but that wasn't really the point I was discussing. You are trying to put the blame on the poor football on the toes of LVG. It is rubbish and the evidence of that is that we did play good football under Jose for a time. The idea that the players were so drilled in LVG's tactics that they forgot how to pass the ball on the ground is quite ridiculous. We have some extremely talented footballers in the squad, but Jose for the most opted to play a more direct style of play.
That said, I will give him chance to redeem himself with a better brand of football in his second season (which is more than you did for LVG as I recall).

Actually I was quite confident going into season two of LVg after those games in 14/15 which gave me hope
But we went backwards in season two
I doubt that will happen with Jose

No it wasn't.
And LVG's football was no worse than the utter $hit Jose turfed up from Christmas on wards.
With better players.
