Kasper not as good as you think?

How good was Kasper Schmeichel last season?

At face value, the Dane was superb, with fans and players naming him man of the season.

However, stats provided by research group World in Motion/GK1 suggest there's room for improvement.

World in Motion/GK1's shot-stopping model factors in shot difficulty (a combination of shot power, where the shot was heading, where it was taken from and whether the 'keeper was sighted) and shot response (was it held, parried to safety, parried to danger, or conceded?).

Their conclusions suggest Schmeichel had the second least difficult shots to face of all Premier League no.1s, while his shot response was only the ninth best, behind the likes of David de Gea, Hugo Lloris and Jordan Pickford.

Of course, many of Schmeichel's stand-out displays came in the Champions League, performances that are not factored in here, while his leadership, distribution and many other facets of his game are unaccounted for.

Definitely have this sent to Mourinho. They can go all out for bottle-job Lloris instead.

Probably our player of the season, I think any goalkeeper would of struggled behind our defence last season, which at times was appalling under Ranieri.
