Its a case of steady progress, next season with Europe it will be tougher ,plus our top six rivals are all adding quality .

Id be happy with a solid challenge top three finish in the EPL, semi finals of the C/L and domestic cup final.

Going off the rumored transfers, I'd say we've still got a long way to go before realistically winning the Champions League. Out of Lukaku, Sandro, Bakayoko & Rudiger, as of now only Sandro is a CL contending caliber player. What we do have going for us next year is one of the best managers in the tournament, but even that has an element of doubt about it considering Conte's record in the competition to date.

I see us as the best of the rest in Champions League terms right now. You'd fancy us against the likes of Dortmund, Monaco, Roma and the rest of the English clubs, but that elite group comprising Spain's big three, PSG, Bayern & Juventus would all destroy us.

We are better than Atletico and PSG.

Both of them on their day would tear up apart. The midfield combinations of Verratti/Matuidi & Saul/Koke are better than Kante/Bakayoko + both have defensive combinations very capable of keeping Hazard/Pedro quiet.

And I agree those are the weakest of the six, shows just how far away we are from competing in Europe right now.

I agree with Zah that keeping Costa is essential unless some magic occurs in the transfer market.

I meant Pastore not Pastors and I am glad that Tway agrees with me and any team can beat us but we are more than a match for PSG and Atletico.Teams like Atletico develop decent hometown players and we could have given Ake a chance before selling him.Also we should not have sold Ryan Bertrand as he is better than many players playing for top clubs in England like Man City,Man U,Tottenham or Arsenal.

Agreed, we're good but not that good.

I'd be happy to get out the group and then see how far we can get without playing a top team. If we got a Bayern or Real or Barca then I'd find it very unlikely that we'd proceed to the next phase

League I just want to stay in that top 4 and with Lucrapku I'm concerned with our lack of fire power.. it sounds silly yes but I just don't think he's top draw!

gotta agree re Lukaku....it shows (if we've actually got him) that we are not aiming high enough re striking options

still no word on what we are doing with Costa or Bats

We could make a crafty bid for Werner at Leipzig ,I really think that he will develope into world class.
Also he would be a better bet than Lukaku ,and be a lot cheaper.

Think retaining the league & Q/F's of the CL would represent an outstanding season next year. If we're gunna win the CL as soon as next year, an Inter/2010 scenario will have to happen. Conte will need to tactically outsmart every opponent in every knockout match, and there are some awesome managers on the continent right now, big ask.
