'New faces' have freshened up Derby County'

If the state of financial play chez Rams is so bad that GR is having to come out with quotes like that then this is going to be a long season!

I'm sure its great that the likes of George Thorne, Craig Forsyth, Andreas Weimann and Jamie Hanson are back from loans or injury and appear fighting fit. Some might even say the same of Chris Martin.

But none of them are new faces and to even suggest they are is taking the pi55.

We have sold our 2 most skillful players, bought a decent but aging centre half and, assuming the medical goes to plan, another robust defender.

Its early doors still, I guess, but there's been nothing to enthuse me about the upcoming season so far.

Clement got sacked by Mel for not buying into "the Derby Way" (officially, at least) but now it seems that we are about to enter a period of grinding out results endorsed/enforced by the self same egotist that is our owner.

YAWN!

............ I won't be losing any sleep over it.

Last time you lost any sleep was when the DET reported Greggs were closing all their Derbyshire shops.

Derby have never lost when Blackman scores.

Derby have never lost or drawn a match when their goalkeeper was sent off and going 1 down in the first minute.

666 - good points, well made EXCEPT that Eranio was not "showbiz".

He was all about technique and stamina and was outstandingly solid and dependable for us. Not to say he couldn't produce moments of magic because he was such a good all round player. But Baiano was the flair player of that pair a la Kinky or Idiakez, surely ?

Oh, for a couple of players like that again.

They were great days; I sincerely regret once painting a fence whilst wearing my 'old' shirt from that era as it turned out to be quite the classic.

666, if you still have it, you could donate that shirt to Oxfam. It could be recycled to make enough tents for every single one of the Syrian refugees.

I was slimmer then... it'd barely fit a bingo wing in nowadays.

Mood is first class amongst the squad. Rowett's man management is creating good vibes. My first reports from Tennisrife.
