Who will be first to leave?

It's been hard enough waiting for new signings to arrive this summer (as usual) but at least we now have Macguire, Iborra and hopefully Iheanachu shortly.

We have now also had weeks of speculation over Mahrez, Musa, Kapuska, Mendy, Ulloa, Slimani, Zieler and even Amartey and Gray. So, who will be the first out of the door and will this start a modest exodus?

Speculation - don't you just love it! Can't beat a done deal though!

If mahrez is still here there will be a good chance of him going in January if any team has injury problems and are in the champions league,
He needs to put himself in the window !
So for that reason grey stays till January as well
Both players have a point to prove to themselves and potential clubs,
Other players with a job to do between now and January
James,king,slimani,Lawrence,amarty,

let go now
Ulloa,musa

Don't understand your point Dunge. McCarthy is proven and a better allround player than any of our midfield and I include Drinkwater in that.

The only question mark is fitness.

If you could replace Mendy or James with McCarthy if fit you'd turn that down????

You hate Mendy! So much so I'm questioning whether he kicked a ball through your front window last year and wouldn't say sorry!!!

I don't even think we're in for him anymore to be honest, he was probably an option before we signed Iborra.

In other news we've had a 40 million pound big for Sigurdsson turned down according to the BBC.

I don't hate Mendy. I remain somewhat suspicious about him, but there's nothing concrete there like with DJ Campbell. I don't get anyone saying they thought he looked at all good though, particularly using the Arsenal match as an example where they dribbled around him like they would a lamp post.

If we could get McCarthy for £5m max, as a cast off and to augment our midfield then there may be an argument, although even then I think he'd probably be better off elsewhere. I wouldn't have him above talented Ndidi and Premier League-winning regular Drinkwater. Throw in Iborra as well and what's the point? I disagree that he's a better player than what we have. And Everton fans look quite happy at the prospect of him being offloaded, particularly for £25m.

I hope we just heard a rumour, rated him slightly too high and inquired over his availability; then, on getting a crazy valuation, signed Iborra and decided our work was done in central midfield this summer.

YH - Exactly. And I'd be glad if we have had a £40m bid turned down. It would suggest that we're serious but not desperate and willing to move on (to Iheanacho, it may be).

Dont think too many City fans could pass real judgement on Mendy, we havent seen enough of him. As with any player coming in from abroad it takes tinme to get up to speed with the pace of the premier league. Mendy got a bad injury in our second game and missed half the snason, by which time we had brought in Wilf (Ndidi). Thivk he would beneit from a move preferably back to France.

Re the players listed in Merseys post.
The rumours strongly tipped in the merc but weve heard nothing since ( no concrete or substance)

Mendy - Bordeaux or Nantes
Musa - Fenerbache
Kapustka - various German teams

and now today
Ulloa - Getaffe, Bettis or Iborras old club. Although
Shakey has indicated he wants to keep him.

Lawrence - Derby (sheep, sheep, sheep sha)

Mahrez - watch this space. we are holding out just like
Swansea are with Gylfi

Can't see us going for Macarthy particularly if we get
Gylfi which I dont think we will, looks like Everton.
However Miamis posted it !!!

Dunge - not saying he'd be first choice ahead of Ndidi and maybe Drinkwater.

But you'd be niaive if you thought that replacingJames, King or bless human Amartey with McCarthy wasn't a step forward.

I can't comment on Iborra until I see him tackle the premier league. He 'may' be class, he may be the next Kramaric/Kapustka.

Changing any of those for McCarthy, even if he wasn't a sicknote, for £25m, is an absolute waste of money.

Iborra, like you say, we'll have to wait and see.

So Dunge, if I offered McCarthy for Mendy bet even. Take it or leave it.

By the way, I agree he would need to be fully over his injuries. Not worth anything if not.

Have to agree with True Blue.
Demarai Gray if Mahrez stays. Not 1st out the door, but 1 of them.
Benalouane if Gibson/Evans come in.
