Clutching at straws? Moi?

Jurgen is quoted last night, on being asked about Mahmoud that he "needs to get 100% fit first then we'll see."

Am I alone in wishful and perhaps naive thinking that Sakho might be taken back into the fold, a la prodigal son?

I, for one, still rate him. He's got to have learned his lesson by now.

I said this on another thread last week but it doesn't matter how good Sakho is if the reports of ill discipline are true.

If Klopp has decided he's not a character he wants in the team then he's done as far as I'm concerned. How many times did Fergie hold out an olive branch and give someone a second chance? Because I can't remember a single time. Once you cross the manager that's your lot.

Despite us needing a CB I actually hope Klopp sticks to his guns on Sakho. Shows the squad exactly who's in charge.

Those reports are from a year ago with no new reports since. He's obiously learned his lesson and improved as a player, being instrumental in Palace's survival last season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nah after he was banished he went onto twitter and started insinuating that Klopp or the club were lying about the whole saga. Can't continually disrespect the club and manager and expect to still have a future in the team.

If we get someone in to play CB and that's what klopp wants, all good. My issue is having no replacement and sacrificing our results due to being able to manage the situation and player. Look at Conte and Costa. The decision to sell him was taken when Costa was dropped and left out of the squad. He'd pushed his luck too far. Conte managed that situation for the benefit of his side getting results. When we're playing Lucas and Klaven at CB and have sakho, it seems mental.

Long term gain for short term pain imo.

I'd like to believe Klopp is here for the medium to long term, if that's the case then stamping his authority is no bad thing. Let's all players know the standard that is expected and what happens if you cross the line.

I really don't have a problem with that. Even if it means Lucas or Klavan last year. We're clearly in the market for a CB this summer though so hopefully our situation is changing anyway.

someone speculated that it at minimum put the transfer back to august (he's not fit message gone out) but also says he's not a total numpty so bid properly.

IMO he will go for about 20.

Naah. Its futile to try to compare the two situations because we don't have the details. Costa's problem was with Conte and was a complaint over team selection I think which shows that Costa is competitive, not a bad seed whereas with Sakho the murmurs are that he's bad for the atmosphere around training, I'll disciplined and not under the managers control.

For all we know it could be because of Costa that Chelsea have managed the situation not because Conte managed it well. We dont though. Sakho has previous too. The decision must have taken ages to make looking back at his history and we kept him even when he walked out of the stadium when not selected. Who knows what else he's been up to.

I mean, how much sheet can you take before you tell the guy to fack off? Should we let him do as he pleases because of results? If we do then in the long run results will suffer worse than keeping him.

Having said that, I do like him a lot and hope he can be rehabilitated back into the first team if we don't sign a starting CB. Him and Mario could be decent perhaps.
