Interesting strategy from TC. Get the job on the back of analysing how carp our midfield was last year. We go out and buy a bunch of new midfielders. TC, then plays the ones he identified as not being up to it.

It's all part of a cunning plan to keep his powder dry.... or the new signings are even worse than the last lot!

This was our first real test and we looked poor all over the pitch. The best you can say is that we have a lot of players getting to know each other. We lacked cohesiveness all over the field. There were some nice touches from Aloisi and Anita, but defensively, we were very poor.

I just didn't see the point in playing Ant on right wing, Doukara CM and Vieira left back?

Agree it didn't look great but there were some decent moments. We looked better in the first half. Phillips looked good and sharp.

Football is football. Losing 3-0 in any game isn't great. A boxer wouldn't want to be pulled apart and battered in sparring with a fight just 3 weeks away.

This sort of thing is what frustrates me about playing non league and local teams in pre season. Just play 1. We've just 2 games left to get this side ready and clicking for Bolton. Feels like QPR all over again atm.

key thing from this is, how does this help team be ready for season?
