Sense at last...... I'm guessing the club had prior knowledge of this before signing Salah.....
A side effect could be a sharp increase in transfer fees for African players.
AFCON now in summer......

Places on or near the equator will be hot all year round; the only difference is whether or not it rains. But southern countries, like South Africa, definitely have their winters when we have our summers - and it can get pretty cold in parts.

True. It's Winter in Kenya but temperature is still hitting 30 Celsius.

Maybe because Kenya doesn't have a 'winter'.

Im from SA and it's winter here. Our coldest day so far was 17°C at midday
That's in Pretoria though...Im sure Cape Town must've had a couple degrees lower than that coupled with rain.
Overall Africa is not cold compared to European temperatures.

Unless all the games are played at night. Then it's cooler.

Sure it would create a better audience if it avoided being on whilst the European leagues are on?

You are forgetting North Africa with places like Egypt, Tunisia and Morocco which will be Qatar like hot.

I like this line from the linked article.
"CAF’s executive committee meet in Rabat on Thursday and are expected to formalise all the major recommendations‚ which could come into effect almost immediately"
So by the end of today we should know if the recommendations have been formally sanctioned and if so Salah & Mane will not be missing in January.
