£70m on a single striker and low spending Spurs still have a better attack than the Rags, so what does that prove? As long as we score more than the opposition, it will be fine. What we had was no longer good enough so this is an upgrade paid for by Sky. Are they perfect? Probably not. Will they play the way Pep wants them to? Probably. The Pep defence is a complex thing, inverted fullbacks playing near the centre circle, overlapping fullbacks sometimes, maybe 3 at the back on occasion. It will take time to settle but Pep will make the individuals better players who can play the way he wants them to play.

One thing that surprises me is that Pep clearly prevers the 'inverted winger' style in which they come inside and flood the center of the park. I am a huge Walker fan but he would not be good at this at all; great dribbling when at pace but he uses his athleticism to beat the man around the outside. He would look out of his depth coming inside.
Mendy also doesn't appear to suit this role, but apparently he did it a bit under Bielsa so I will save judgement.

I wasn't far off. You've not won the title in last 3 seasons and in truth haven't been close to winning it either.
