What is the deal with Lucas Perez

He's barely ever had a chance and certainly never had an extended run of games playing centrally. He has chipped in with goals usually cutting in off the left-wing and often off the bench throughout his career. In 39 League & FA Cup starts for us he has 14 goals and for England (where he has consistently been one of the best players on the pitch whenever he has played) he has 13 goals in 34 games.

If Danny was played centrally and got as many starts and as much game time as Giroud then I would bet money on him scoring more goals.

"Can't score goals" is simply not true.

Honestly what I dont get is why we want our strikers to leave? Why not keeping them all? I love the competition on the striker front. For the first time we have a choice and can give players a rest if needed.

Wenger chose Perez to leave Arsenal.

Giroud doesn't get that much

The bloke was a joke signing. A journeyman striker with one good season in his whole career.

In comparison to someone like Welbeck he looks alright but that doesn't make him (or Welbeck) worth holding on to.

He's played 281 matches for club and country and has 68 goals to his name. That's less than a goal every 4 games. Emile Heskey had a better goals to game ratio at the same stage of his career.

I like Welbeck and he has his qualities but goalscoring isn't one of them. He's got horrific composure in front of goal, his decision making is brutal and his finishing technique is on Gervinho's level. Let's call a spade a spade here.

It's honestly worse than gervinho's. Gerv had his misses, but I've never seen him miss the ball completely as many times as Danny has.

How many assists does Welbeck have from misshiting a shot on goal 😂 If there is a stat for that I'd be shocked if he isn't topping it.

Wouldn't be too bothered If we sold either welbeck or Perez. Just not both. But In circumstances as they are
It's Clear Perez has to go over welbeck. Welbeck still seems up for giving his all for Arsenal. Perez is probably done here. But think he's more more effective than welbeck. Not that welbeck is totally useless

It's clear Perez was never wanted. But even so, he could have offered more this season if used more. But for whatever reason wenger hated him. I'm pretty sure Perez wasn't injured for that long. There was definitely some dispute over something, probably playing time. Wenger probably made it clear he was surplus to requirements after a few months
