Banning Cow Milk

An ad stating that “Humane milk is a myth" has been cleared by the regulator following complaints from members of the dairy industry that it was inaccurate and misleading.

The national newspaper ad for Go Vegan World, a vegan campaign group, in February featured a photo of a cow behind a piece of barbed wire and the headline “Humane milk is a myth. Don't buy it."

I'm getting fed up with these Vegans.

Yes you don't like eating meat and love animals, get over it!
Some quack on the radio said we should replace all cow (proper) milk with plant based milk like Soy and Almond.
This is the sort of rubbish that makes me want to cut down a rainforest!

I see the vegans are conveniently ignoring the inconvenient points about their diet..

Ludicrous, and I'm not some animal hating psychopath, Term calls me "the animal rights activist" because I crash his grand national post every year pointing out the barbaric cruelty of horse racing. But I have experienced and seen that dairy farming is not cruel.

Do yourself a favor go and experience milking a few times, local dairy farmers often need evening milkers, you might learn a little more than by following the fackin Peta Facebook page.

Equally I've worked with dairy farmers (In Australia and the UK) and the cows are treated like sheet. Some farmers obviously treat animals well and some don't.

I don't think many people, perhaps bar PETA nutters claim all domesticated animals are treated badly but equally you denying that dairy farming is ever cruel isn't helpful either.

I've not said it isn't ever cruel, I said it's not inherently cruel.

Blame the individuals or workers who treat their cows poorly, not the industry which on the whole is very progressive.

Besides which, another point I made in my first post is that consumers can influence the industry, i.e by buying the newer free range dairy products that are available.

Also plants are living things too.

Why is eating them anymore better or worse than eating animals, they are still alive and we farm and kill them for food, or chop them down when we want to build something.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Plants don't have a brain or a nervous system
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They release distress signals when attacked by vicious predators such as insects and vegans
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I've heard it all before, but without a brain and nervous system it doesn't compare to the treatment of animals. This is just a stupid argument by meat eaters to put Vegans down.

I hate it when people shove their beliefs, be it religion or ethics in your face but there's no denying that dairy farming is cruel.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't deny that dairy farming is cruel, I just don't give a toss. Bollox to the cows, if they weren't so stupid it'd be them farming us, but the fact is we've risen as a species to the top of the pile and natural selection dictates that we utilise them for our survival.

Besides, what have cows ever done for us? Nothing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
For Devils advocate. How would you feel if an alien species came down and rounded you up for consumption, along with your family and friends? Still advocate natural selection, as ET munches on your wife's rump?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Course it wouldn't bother me, survival of the fittest and all that, only the strongest and most adaptable of any species survives. Except now with our inclusive society we're providing social and medical care for all manner of sludge that would've been expunged from history before it could procreate in centuries gone by. Hitler had the right idea with his policy on castrating or euthanising the most mentally feeble or physically deformed in society, purify the gene pool. And getting back to cows, did you ever see during world war 2 any cows signing up to fight the vile Hunn? Or getting involved on the Homefront? I don't remember them getting together to back us up in our hour of need, yet we're supposed to feel sorry for them because they get butchered into burgers or used for milk? Do me a favour. Fack them.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Do you actually talk like this out in the real world or is this just a persona you put on for us? You sound like Danny Dyer.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ridiculous comment, don't where you get that from from what I'd written there. No rhyming slang, one fack, but Danny Dyer? How can I "sound" like anything? I only sound how you choose to hear me when you read it to yourself, which is down to you, not me.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I've read many of your posts not just this one. You're either bragging about how many women you've goosed or what you've achieved in life, and then there's the posts that are just threatening and aggressive. If you spoke to people face to face like you do on here you'd get your head filled in more often than not.

I saw this documentary, after watching it I stopped consuming milk. Some old guy went around killing day old calves for a couple of quid. Dairy farming is cruel.

5 years old.

As I said it's a progressive industry undergoing huge change, in the last few years sexed sp3rm has become widely available for AI. so the number of bull calves has dropped enormously few are born now, most that are born are done to a meat sire and are taken through to the beef stage of their lifespan.

If you want cruelty look at the sheer number of male chick's that get ground up each day in the egg production industry.. There's a reason I keep my own chickens

I do wonder about the sanity of the types that do that. Not people I'd want to know.
