Things are getting exciting now.

Here's my list of whys:

a) its pay day today

b) With the weekend we can effectively call this the last day of July and we are now 4 working weeks to transfers over. Won't that be nice for us all.

c) Next week we find out our opponent for the CL play off round (4th august) first leg Matches are on 15th/16 august. A good draw and away we go

d) First premier league game is the 12th AUGUST (so close )

e) Over the course of the next 8 days lfc will play FOUR preseason games

We are 2 weeks from the premier league kick off. Exciting times.

I'm sure there is a lot of trepidation about the transfers but the next week IMO will be a good one to be following LFC cos we have 4 games in preseason to watch, transfer sagas to entertain us and then to find out who we play in CL play off , that could shake some stuff loose.

THEN after all that we get to enjoy the week's build up to the season proper which will distract some press hacks from their transfer spinning.

The journey to 28 years starts here. Strap in tight and hold on to the grab rail. It's going to be a bumpy ride.

It's going to get even better - VVD is a done deal according to my sources

Metro, have you been having an early lunch perchance? I'm actually getting quite bored with all the Press talk about who is going where and so on.

So, I revert to my original stance:
Wearing a Red shirt
At Anfield
Photos of the signing
Melwood lean
Shaking hands with any big cheese from LFC.

Then, and not before, we've signed a player.

VVD...as good as a red, Matip and VVD as Cbs, they have everything as a pair; height, power, passing and speed.

If we can shut up shot we will go close this season, we know we always score goals so we should have a good chance.

I read reports where Southampton is not letting go of him. These are nervous times for any Red fan.

If I'm brutally honest, the backline is still the weakest among the top epl teams. Clyne and Robertsen/Milner are very average. Matip is a decent/good cb, but not worldclass. He can grow into a better defender though.

This is a bit harsh. Milner has done well in an unfavoured position, and Robertson is a very promising player. Matip is very good, and formed a good partnership with Lovren. We were on the whole much better defensively when he played.
