Hes staying, we all knew it. Its a bullsht media report with no substance and previous murmorings from Coutinho himself suggest he likes Liverpool and i think having Firmino there helps too.
Reports emging from the echo that Keita plans have been shelved, good; i posted weeks earlier that the winter window is probably the more realistic time to get him, he will have 6 months (ish) left until his contract release clause kicks in and he will be gone for i think its £48M at the end of the summer...if LFC offer £60M at xmas time i think they will accept rather than lose £12M for just 6 months.
So all in all, its going to be great season for us i can feel it, Klopps 2nd proper season and the players will have had a good pre season behind them...i also think VVD wil be a LFC player in a couple of weeks

On teh team, the MF and forward line are all players that close down like mad, quickly and togther...thoughts in teh team and bench???

Oh,,,and this season we REALLY will see who is stronger, both spurs and LFC have CL and both spurs and LFC will be in for the title...or should be.
This season squads will really be tested..lets see what happens

I think last season was ample to see who was stronger.
You had one little heavy spell at Christmas then in January and blew up.
We had more games than you, had several key men from our first XI missing for spells - Kane missed a quarter of the season - and still finished an acre in front of you.

So you played 7 more games than us courtesy of Europe and funnily enough when you too played a heavy spell in October/November you won 1 drew 5 and lost 4 similar to how we did in Jan/Feb.

Kane - 30
Toby - 30
Rose - 18
Coutinho - 30
Lallana - 30
Lovren - 29
Matip - 28
Mane - 26
Henderson - 24
So the missing key players argument on your end doesn't really stack up in comparison.

I can understand with Couts wants to stay, he has been told they will build a statue for a player like him.
So reject Barca and stick with Klopp, I'm sure he won't have a Dortmund style meltdown anytime soon

Providing Spurs sign Barkley, then I think they only lack depth for 3 players - Alderweireld, Trippier and Kane.
Dier is excellent cover for Vertonghen if he has Toby next to him, but an injury to Toby is catastrophic for that defence. Kane is irreplaceable full stop. An injury to Trippier would currently leave Spurs playing an unproven youngster.
Barkleys versatility, ability and assist record makes me feel he could cover any of Eriksen, Alli or Dembele to a high level. Rose is covered by Davies. Wanyama has Dier (if not being utilised in defence), whilst Winks offers alternatives. Son is a goal scoring option off the bench.
If Liverpool get VVD, then the back 4 is Clyne, VVD, Matip,Milner - with only Lovren being proven back up, albeit a step down.

Toby isn't thát good imo. When he was injured Vertongen did well and he was the best defender the whole season.
