Loaning out

With so many players coming in it's hard to keep everyone happy and playing.

We always hear about how players should be loaned out and then say what a good move it was for players like Taylor to be loaned out etc.

We have to expect that some of our squad are going to go out on loan and I would not expect it to be the players just brought in by Orta unless it's the academy players and even then why loan them out if you're setting up new academy structure.

When the players were out on the pitch warming-up yesterday, I was first of all struck by how big the squad is.

Then I found I was struggling to spot Wood etc.

Then I realised they weren't in the group and hadn't come out yet!

We could send out a dozen loanees and still have a squad left.

The Championship is a long season. 46 games plus cups, so you need a big squad to compete. Can't see any of the first team going out on loan. Last season Bridcutt, Berardi and Hernandez missed a few months each, suspensions, Wood missed a handful of games. People will get their chance.

Missed the boat on loaning players out.

The likes of Coyle, Phillips, Denton should have been sent out 2 years ago.

Expect Doukara and Antonnson to leave on transfers.

Expect to see the midfield thinned with either players sold or loaned.

Gomes won't be around the first team next year, neither will Denton.

So although the squad was big yesterday there were at least 5 or 6 that won't be anywhere near the first team squad or be out of the club

The point of sending players out on loan is to get first team games and help their development.

That applies regardless of the fact you are rebuilding the youth system.

Sending three or four players out on loan dosent mean you don't have a bunch of other kids your working with to develop so I don't see how sending some players from the youth system out on loan affects setting up a new academy structure

Sending players out on loan is far better for all concerned than having them kicking their heels when they don't even get on the bench.

Anybody who might be needed (should injuries/suspensions demand) ought to have a recall clause in the loan agreement.

43, it's the who that will be interesting. From leeds website, bridcutt, vieira, o Kane, Phillips, klich, saiz, Dallas, sacko, Hernandez, Anita, that is one hell of a lot of midfielders to keep happy.

i would send phillips out on loan.
i like him and think getting first team game time is crucial to his development.
the question is where, it would be good at a championship side but would he play enough?
