Very important month coming up for us.
PL season gets under way shortly. Need to get off to a good start if possible, especially with two home games.
CL qualifier is crucial. Find out our opponents on Friday and being at home in the second leg as we're seeded is a nice advantage to have. Means we don't have to travel between the Palace and Arsenal games.
Finally, transfers. In and out. A lot of reports on Coutinho. I think he will stay, already striking up a partnership with Salah which can only good news. As long as we are in the CL then I think we can keep hold of him.
As for transfers in, we seem to be a little stuck now. Salah and Robertson give us width and a left back, which is what we needed. I'm not so confident with us defensively still, so if VVD isn't going to join then we need to be looking at alternatives. We currently have 5 CBs who can start and one of them will probably leave before the end of the window, even if it is on loan.
That leaves us with Lovren, Matip, Klavan and Gomez. No different to last season so we really need to get another body in that area. If nothing else this transfer window, we need another CB.
We've ended interested in Keita which suggests we are looking for another midfielder - whether we go for someone else before the window closes remains to be seen.

It wouldn't surprise me if we did nothing else in the remainder of this window. Is the squad now, with the additions of Salah, Robertson and Solanke, good enough for the season?

No where near enough.
We struggled with depth last season with only having the 3 competitions and we weren't in the fa cup long. If we went into the season as we are I'd disgusted with the ambition showed.

Likewise. But it's when we accept that VVD won't happen - if it won't - and go for somebody else. Don't want this dragging on until deadline day then miss out altogether.

I'm not going to go all ARE or Kash and I'm prepared to wait till the window shuts before slitting my wrists but if we don't get what we need in then I'll join them.

Henderson was pretty much ever present for 3 years. He's had issues for the last 18 months but I still think he has to be considered a regular player. He played 24 league games last season. That's almost 2/3 of games.
With Robertson in we also have Milner as a possibility as well. So that's:

Could play in CM comfortably as cover
Grujic
Young player that will get some games.
7 options for 3 places feels about right to me.

Just need a CB that can play on the leftside of a back two. Frustrating as it is people need to chill! As evident this summer clubs are not willing to do business unless its for a stupid fee. If you look actually not that many transfers have happened thus far. Large yes but quantity no.
The players Klopp has brought in the last few years has been overall outstanding and have improved the first team. I trust Klopp he has to work with these players on a dailt basis. So he would be the first one demanding a player if we needed him.
Relax and see what happens. If come October and we are poor and are struggling then have a go. Otherwise let's just try to be positive and support the club. Rival fans will hate that we are being so positive in the mix of their cliché obsession of comments and threads about our club...

not for me it's not.
you can say henderson played this many games but Lucas played more games than him last season and he's been moved on.
henderson may play the whole season "hopefully" but is more likely he won't due to his heel issue. lallana also suffers injurys and Can can be in consistent.
we are weaker now than we were last eason at CM and we've got an extra competition in europe. it shouldn't be about making do with this player or that player, we need to improve on we had last season and as we stand we are worse off.

If we can find someone to improve us then awesome. I would assume that our first choice would be Henderson, Wij and Lallana. Sometimes Coutinho maybe.
If we find a midfielder like Keita that would take one of those spots then great, I'm all in favour because it improves us. Equally I'm comfortable with Milner and Grujic playing CM to cover the 'Lucas' games.
I think we have the numbers in CM basically. If we can improve quality then we should. I just get the feeling Klopp will wait for Keita.
CB is very different and a priority for me.
