Yeah, you do get one of these a season on average. But you'd have to say Beckhams was particularly special. The flight of the ball, the positioning of the finish, it was also a very rare goal to score at the time.

Keeper was off his line and beckham hit it from the halfway line, no different from any other goal like that.

Agree. They are all special. Alonso's might be even better because he had players in front of him and had to turn and find space. It was also further away. It was no fluke. He has done it more than once.

My favourite goal is Di Canio bicycle goal for West Ham against Wimbledon. Can't remember the year. Best ever goal I've seen in the league.

Figueroa is the best of the long distance hits

Never been a massive fan of goals from the half-way line. It's quick thinking but surely any professional should be able to hit the target from range. At least a good percentage of the time anyway. They all just feel like keeper errors to me. If the keeper is on his line, nothing doing.

As for that list, love Atkinson's goal. The run is superb but the calmness to chip the keeper as well - fantastic. It has my vote.

Even though it's a Leeds goal I voted for Yeboah.

I very nearly voted for Atkinson though as I thought it was worth a vote just because Noddy Holder decided to join the players in celebration.

Dalian Atkinson by a distance for me. The wonderful run, the exquisite chipped finish.

can't vote for beckhan even though the kick is perfect, the keeper just looks too silly.
the atkinson goal was superb because of the mazy run and then as can solo said the calmness of the chip.
