Admin, if you bin it and they take it to court you're screwed.

I've had two of these supposed fines in the past for overstaying on one of these private car parks.

After consulting the Internet the general opinion was to totally ignore any letters that come your way, that's exactly what I did.

Heard nothing from any of them, the last one was over two years ago.

100% ignore it.
If you see the big profile court losses relating to these; they've all been where someone has ignored the parking tickets for months at a time, making it worth their while to take it to court - because the charges have mounted into the thousands.

Ultimately, they are never going to take a punter to court over £60, where their own costs will be many multiples of this - particularly where they have very shaky grounds for their 'damages' in the first place.

These companies work on the basis of being able to scare enough people into paying up without needing to take it further.
It's an absolute nonsense.

Not at all, particularly if they have not sent it recorded delivery as there is no proof of delivery. The day I'm obliged to open every junk letter that comes through my door I might agree. If it's not important enough for it to be recorded delivery it obviously isn't important.
