Transfer business done?

With Klopps post match comments tonight that your transfer business is potentially done for the summer. If true, what do you guys think of the business you have done?

You have no doubt added to your fabulous attacking strength with Salah. However, as both you and City showed last season, an attacking threat is useless unless you have a strong defence.

Defence is where Liverpool needed the most work I don't think Klopp has addressed that area.

Now, I could be wrong and Klopp may pull off the signings of a couple of good defenders in the next few days but that looks unlikely at the moment!

FBT. It matters not a jot how much time Solanke played or indeed who for. That is history. Even with is limited time with is pre-season he's shown his worth. That is the present. How well he plays for us in the meantime will determine his sell-on value. That is the future.

He's clearly a young man will a lot of talent and ambition. I suspect he may not stay with is for the rest of his career, and he will be sold. A future club can't come in for negotiation and say, "yeah but he only played 17 minutes for Chelsea." I don't think that one would work.

Bear in mind too he's a youth. To get on the bench far less play any minutes for that club is unheard of. The amount of young talent that club have thrown to the winds is dreadful.

Klopp is just another Wenger when it comes to transfer business. Not daring enough to take risks if plan A fails. Let's not forget last season he moaned about injuries and fixture congestion even when we were not in Europe.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

It's called protecting his players.

You wouldn't understand this as you are a constant stream of negative.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If you want to protect your players then you need to buy a bigger and better squad. Your constant stream of denial is embarrassing
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We do need more but we already have a bigger and better squad though.

Salah and Robertson improve the starting 11 and free up Coutinho and Milner for midfield.

The likes of TAA and Woodburn are a year older and more capable of first team football and Solanke, Ward and Kent also improve the squad.

The only place we're truly weak at the moment is CB, but it wouldn't surprise me if VVD forces through a move before the window closes.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If Milner has been freed up for midfield then I'll be very worried. He is not a midfielder and I fully expect to see him at left back at Watford next week.

Robertson is a low risk who may come good or not but will not displace Milner.

Salah looks a very good signing and that is one area of weakness we have addressed.

Kids might look decent in preseason but different ball game when it comes to competitive.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What's wrong with Milner in midfield as back up? He doesn't work as cm in a two but in a 3 he'd fine or as one of the 3 in 4-2-3-1 like in 15/16.

I don't think that is the end of our transfer business, I think he's playing it cool on VVD as this is who we will sign. I remain very hopeful that is the case.

Now, as a point of clarification (not a moan), if this IS now the end of our transfer business before we head into PL and CL and assorted other competitions I think all but a very few would not be content.

I think Robertson will displace Milner, who I think will move to midfield.

If he gets minimal playing time for us then his value wouldn't be very high but he will get plenty of playing time I think. But based on the impact he had at Chelsea, or more rather, the fact that they basically didn't play him at all, I don't think they have any right to demand £10m.

Yep some of the best football of his career has come in a midfield 3.

He's not a good passer but he's athletic, will get goals and give us much needed experience.

Well both clubs finished in the top 4, so no, we didn't show last season that attacking threat is useless without a strong defence.

We both conceded more than Utd yet both comfortably finished above you, so how was it useless exactly?
---------

It was United that showed that no attacking threat is useless unless you have a sheet defence.

Some people are just moaners for whatever reason. Like Kash and ARE. They sometimes have a point, rarely, but even when they do its still just more moaning and self contradiction.

Its not the clubs fault they are like this. It is the summation of a certain type of life which when lived causes one to be like that so try to understand.

FBT I think his value will be judged or set somewhere in between 'actual' and 'potential'. And because of that I suspect the figure will be near to 10 than to 3.

Yet you'd be one of the first moaning that we settled for a lesser player. After all, I've rarely seen a player you actually rate..... I'd rather sign no one than a player the manager doesn't really want.
