VVD...is he the final piece?

Below is the transfer request from VVD to Saints

http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/virgil-van-dijk-transfer-request-13444536

I fully expect him to come to Anfield now, the transfer request is the last measure of a player trying to get out, i think i am right in saying by writing this he writes of any bonuses etc due to him.

Its a big statement from a player and id say Saints have pretty much no choice but to listen to offers, of course they can refuse the request but we all know when a player goes down this route it ends in a sale.

Liverpool already offered around £50M i think so i would expect an acceptance of around £60M+, i would think within a week from now or pretty close VVD will hopefully be a LFC player....so:

VVD and Matip as Cbs and Lovren, Klavan as back ups looks solid to me. So, we all know in the past its dead ball scenarios into our box that has caused anxious moments, VVD and Matip will probably reduce this to a minimum, is VVD the piece that could act as a defensive catalyst; the team below looks like a top team to me:

.................Mignolet.............
Clyne....Matip..VVD...Robertson
...............Henderson............
.......Lallana.......Coutinho......
Salah.........Firmino.......Mane

Second team:

................Karius............
TAA...Lovren..Klavan..Gomez
.............Milner......Wij.........
....................Can..................
Origi..........Sturridge....Woodburn

Still have players like Ings, Solanke, Kent, Flanagan, Grujic, Moreno.

VVD...make a BIG difference???

Said on here a few years ago that Liverpool should have bought Forster, Santana and vvd from Celtic.

You would have got the lot for about half of what you'll pay for Virgil now.

Don't kid yourself that these guys are better players now..they aren't ..they were excellent for Celtic.

Would probably have got you at least one title before now.

Breaking News on sky just now, Jamie Redknapp reckons VVD is certain to leave Southampton

I don't know how he does it

Yeah he's not the sharpest tool in the box our Jamie

He also mentioned he wants to sign for a top side so I don't think he'll reject Chelsea if they do come in and the Saints make a stance and refuse to sell to you.

Clyne and Robertsen are very average. Matip isn't worldclass so among the topsides the Pool defense is still the weakest by far.

I'll eat my own hands if Mignolet ever wins the PL.

Will throw in a foot too.

At this juncture, VvD is a Soton player.
At this same time he is not an LFC player.
Talk of what he could do in a Red shirt etc., is total shiiite, the proverbial kiss of death.
Jurgen words, if read correctly, places us neatly in a totally independent, neutral position. Well done boss.

If - still a big if - he comes to us, as I've said before, don't hold your breath, don't expect to see him in Red much before the 31st.

Patience.
