Not being sold - case closed ! Here is the brief statement in full:
"We wish to offer clarity as regards our position on a possible transfer of Philippe Coutinho.
The club’s definitive stance is that no offers for Philippe will be considered and he will remain a member of Liverpool Football Club when the summer window closes"

at least for another season that is but this is great news for the club.
If we can finish this window by getting VVD then confidence will be high going into the new campaign.

Can't really keep a player who doesn't want to be at the club though can you. Klopp said it himself. Just name the price and get it over and done with before it gets even more ugly.

Coutinho has always come across as a quiet individual who shuns publicity and keeps away from the limelight. He asks, according to a friend is a deal can be done amicably, entirely in line with his character.
As I've said before, I am more surprised than disappointed the written request has gone in. I strongly suspect he didn't do it off his own bat. Someone has influenced him.
Well, for all the experts from other clubs, lets see who blinks first.

Short lived confidence then.
He will be gone within a week.
The media has played a huge role in this. No loyalty in the game now.

2 years, I have confidence in our manager; I have confidence in our owners. How many other fans can say that with hand on heart about their manager or owner?
The press, and in particular the Spanish press, I suspect, have been used as a tool on behalf of Barca to embarrass LFC into capitulation.
And it hasn't worked.

How and where has this happened? Please explain.

LQ, the Echo, no less, we're making comments on the Spanish press about presentation dates and times when Couts would be presented, and they came and went. Then a Spanish journalist went live on how effectively the same press were singing to the Barca tune without any evidence of what they were claiming was remotely right.
Bear in mind that Couts was going to be presented, presumeably in Barca colours, on Tuesday. Then Wednesday. Thursday was a certainty.
And em, he hasn't. And the Barca are still without him.
That's why I said it.
Still, if you think the Echo's got it wrong you must be right.
