Derby County 0 - 2 Wolverhampton Wanderers

Pride Park
1500
12 August

Inaugural home game of the 17-18 seasons sees two of our hardest working players - Vydra and Bryson - out injured after the hard slog of approximately 41 minutes of football.

Derby take on a Wolves team where an expectation of success has become the norm. There was a feeling that Derby fell short of fulfilling their potential in the match last week leaving an air of frustration but in retrospect, perhaps a worthy point in the end from a team expected to go straight back up.....I don't think.....

Perhaps Nugent should start? The midfield will be the three from last week and I still think Butters will come good

Looks like Russell and Weimann will be providing the creativity and nous to unlock the Wolves defence.......

Team news to follow, I have no audio or visual connection to the game and will be groping about on a dodgy internet connection, so be good chaps and chapesses and keep me informed

Common denominator is the players, I will judge Rowett after he can get his targets in.

What was interesting is his comment about players not transferring their form, work rate and energy levels on the training ground to the pitch.

"Train hard - fight easy" not working then .......

I'll judge GR then too Tommo, just not sure how long that's going to take, thanks to the financial mis management.

That is encouraging to me though, that they play better in training, there is something better there, although I remember Paul Jewell saying the same. Think GR might be better on the psychology than PJ though.

Won't the real Jacob Butterfield/Andreas Weimman/Johnny Russell/Craig Bryson/Bradley Johnson please stand up, please stand up.

Street.
I am afraid Forest are going to do a lot better than Derby this season. It looks like you've picked up some decent talent whilst we have moved ours on and replaced them with inferior players.

Preferred the first one, 3R.

i should hang on before you all jump out of the top floor window.
you may have ( i hope it is ) that you've been caught by a particularly good wolves team playing particularly well. this is all the more difficult for you to take given the last 3 seasons of the same fixture.
and your result at sunderland looks good now given their performance at norwich..
early days, i still see derby as being top 8 pushing for playoffs
