We need to tank them so as to lift the gloom which could be descending on us. Coutinho wants to leave, maybe Can too, only players desperate to stay are the not so decent ones , Sturridge injured, Lallana injured, seemingly unable to do a single transfer smoothly, more importantly we are once again unable to sign the players to take us forward, couldn't even beat Watford and defence was as bad as its ever been etc etc.
We are more nervous and more fragile and these early stages are more telling for us than other teams IMO. So I'm not saying we will hammer them, just that we need to, which I'm sure most posters are mature enough to understand the point.
A good hiding would be game over and we can start glancing at who's gonna be in the group. If anyone is waiting for us to get CL, it could get things moving transfer wise. We could avoid a life span sapping nervous couple of weeks and not pull our collective hair out so much. One can dream
A high scoring draw? I'd take that quick if offered now. Even a 0-0 would still be very dangerous for us IMO but that's not gonna happen. I know this because all of last season I would bet on both teams to score for Liverpool games and I can tell you if there's a bet that comes in, its it. Doesn't seem to matter who we are playing
