Derby County Chairman Mel Morris has announced a sudden departure from his position as chairman of Derby County.
In a candid RAMS TV interview the successful businessman said. After a thorough review, some reflection and personal growth I have come to the decision that I am not the best man to lead Derby County forward.
"I have offered my resignation and believe I have brought in a talented board that can help steer the club in the direction I sadly could not take it."
The chairman went on to say
"I will be moving to my new role within the club of Chief Investor and Merchandise Development Coordinator."
Asked how this will affect the future of Derby County Mr Morris had these assurances for fans.
"My good friend Bill Kenwright wanted a new challenge after his hard work at Everton FC and felt the chairman position at Derby County and the challenge of trying to help the beleaguered Derby Theatre put together a decent calendar were the logical next step. Chief of Scouting Steve Walsh will join Mr Kenwright from Everton and take up the same position."
In a surprise move he announced that
"Steve McClaren will make his umpteenth return to Derby but this time as Director of Football Operations. Chief Commercial Relations Officer Tom Glick has announced he will be joining the club as soon as his contract runs out at Manchester City this December. Sherly Sandberg will be taking up her role as chief of technological development and making RAMS TV work betterer. Former boxer Oscar De La Hoya will be joining Sheryl as assistant to making RAMS TV work betterer"
In a rare democratic moment from the formidable Mr Morris he has spoken for the need of fans to be represented at board level.
"After another thorough review popular internet forum poster: 'I'm not Spartacus. and definitely not Vidal (U4603)' has been sworn in to the new board position of Chief Representative of the people of Derby County."
Chairman Morris finished the interview by asking for forgiveness from fans.
"He said I was guilty of putting my desire to be the hero before the good of the club, I have now learned the need to share power and believe with these additions the club can finally move forward to where it deserves to be.
Sometimes when you are stinking rich you lose sight of what is important and forget what has made you rich, the hard work, blood, sweat and tears of poor people. This is my way of giving back to the community that made me."
Mr Morris said he would be taking no further questions until after the launch of his latest software innovation Forest Crush.
