Fabinho - Moncao

apparently Monaco Offered Chelsea Fabinho for £50m quid
to avoid selling to PSG
In which we then refused

Just paper talk at this time but hypothetically

if we have turned down Fabinho in favour of Danny Drinkwater, how would you feel,

Personally, I believe Fabinho to be a superior player form what I have seen.

Drinkwater is in the same league as someone like albrighton, Fuchs, Huth and Morgan who are very average players carried in the most spectacular way by Kante Vardy And Mahrez, even in this market and even ifg he only cost us 10m I would be shocked if the powers that be signed him

Drinkwater is a very limited player, hes slow, his passing range is a complete myth, hopeful long balls over the top relying on Vardy chasing lost causes isn't indicative of a good passer, on many occasion I have seen him fail to make 3 yard passes.

I spent some time re watching some of his games for Leicester last season and am lost as to what we see in him.

Signing Drinkwater for me would indicate something wrong with our "scouting" department and deal makers, it just isn't going to work and he will sit on the bench and eventually go on loan next season as his value will have halved.

Id honestly rather we sign someone like Fabien Delph, a cracking little player who moved to City to sit on the bench, people will laugh but before city he was in the England side and looking very good value for it, wouldn't cost the world either and would half expect to sit on the bench. He is a tenacious mobile midfielder with a good passing range and technically very good on the ball.

Drinkwater is just a laughable link I cant believe there are people discussing this as a viable and decent option.

If we were linked with Tom Cleverley, would you be happy ?

explain?

His passing second half of last year was great, probably best reader of the game in the PL atm, interceptions, tackles, starting moves, the odd goal. What is he limited at? he even wins a lot of little headers lol

The most influential player in the PL for the last two seasons.

Marc Albrighton is a good player and so is Jamie Vardy. We have been linked with Belotti as a Costa replacement who will be an excellent signing if it happens and Candreva of Inter Milan and Cancelo of Valencia.

He doesn't need to be an exception passer, he's not a playmaker, but he's able to recycle possession very effectively and productively which is all he needs to do.

Being a limited dribbler depends on what you expect. At skinning people yes (except for Smalling ), but it's amazing how often he'll bring the ball into the middle third from defensive positions to release pressure instantly before laying it off to a playmaker. He's a savvy dribbler.

Shooting I'll give you. If he could strike a ball like Essien or Matic he'd be a perfect B2B midfielder, but even in that respect I've seen far worse shooters.

I sort of get what you're saying calling him limited, sort of, but no team in the world wouldn't want him as an option. Extremely valuable player.
