Surely this has to be the focus. Unless we are signing a player of similar quality to cazorla, which is very hard to find, we have to get a player who can play the DM role with stability and power.
Xhaka is very good at passing but he is a poor tackler and not very mobile.
Why are we not after not someone like Nzonzi. Excellent player who would fit our team very well. We wouldn't get overrun in MF or overpowered
Anyhow, unlikely any of this will happen. There is too much loyalty to players. As we paid a lot of money for Xhaka, wenger will continue to play him and not buy anyone else.
On a separate note, we did actually play quite well. Lacazette also is very clever player. I think he will combine well with Sanchez

I actually thought Ozil wasn't that bad today
Our net spend is something like £29M this summer which is ridiculous considering how much money has been spent this summer

Xhaka had a shocker today. No one denying that.
But I don't think people realise how good a player he is.
Stick him in Chelsea, or even a Man U midfield right now and he'd wreck teams.

He has his qualities and considerable weaknesses. He's slow and makes rash, dumb challenges that put the team in trouble. And for someone whose passing is so lauded, makes too many passing errors.

Agree. We will never get it with that clown Wenger at the helm. We need a new manager who will overhaul the team and come up wit a new squad, new system, and new style of play.

A weak midfield is our problem, Xhaka is really not up to arsenal standard, very average and sloppy long ball passing. Get rid asap. Ozil rubbish today as well. These two were our liabilities today and cost us. Felt sorry for lacazette as he looks sharp.
