Andrew Robertson

If he was English would have cost us three times what we payed looked a real threat today and those crosses he put in were top drawer long long time since we had a full back who can whip in a ball the way he does very early days but looks like a real good peace of business not always the big names with the big price tags who become the real stars...

I'm not sure his price is anything to do with not being English. I'm wondering if he had some sort of agreement with Hull, that they'd sell him at that price if they went down. After all, a relegated team aren't exactly in a strong bargaining position.

We rarely ever get crosses into the box so it was a surprise to see him whipping in deliveries like that. Matip should have scored from one also. I was also actually surprised he even started today considering Klopp only recently made comments stating he still had to adapt to the way to the team plays and the fact he was completely left out of last weeks squad at Vicarage Road. Perhaps it was more in keeping an eye on rotation with the important midweek game against Hoffenheim to come.

However, one game at a time. I'm sure Moreno had a decent debut too and look how he turned out. It is great to see a player progress like he has done though - from the Scottish fourth division to looking comfortable in a PL game is some going

I said many times having a PROPER LB is another small piece of the puzzle needed, Milner is very good at LB BUT when you receive the ball on the run Millsie has to check back and get it onto his right foot, crucially this slows the move down and adv is lost.

We have seen today, a proper LB can just run and hit it into the box, far more dangerous and when the LFC players get used to Robertson you can bet they will be busting a gut to get in the box, Solanke esp will love it.

Early days but his showing today confirms many Hull fans thinking that he is a very very good player who will get better, lets hope so.

He did well.. let's see him up against a team who actually try to attack him.

Anything I heard about Robertson said he was a good footballer on the front foot so want to see how he copes with a good player running at him.

We tried the more expensive foreign option in Moreno over Bertrand a few seasons back and it didn't work out, be great if he developed into a long term number one for the position

That about sums it up

The op is correct. Look at Shaw, we paid 3 times as much for, and he's not a patch on Robertson going forward, possibly better defender. But a 30m player, your having a laugh.

I was hoping we'd go after him. Was the only person who I wanted to take from the relegated clubs.
