Zlatan to sign new deal?

Rumours doing the rounds that he may sign a new deal as soon as next week as his rehab is going much better than expected. What do people think?

I don't think it's a good idea. Too old, coming back after a serious injury, and we play better without him.

Even at 36, I Just don't see Zlatan handling not being the main man well. By all accounts he was extremely popular among the players but he really doesn't strike me as an impact sub kind of player.

If he was happy to be that impact sub and occasional starter when maybe Lukaku looks tired then I'd be all for it but I highly doubt he would be.

Obviously the other option would be to play him instead of Mata / Miki and go two up top but I seriously doubt that will be the case.

Zlatan could possibly teach some of the younger players what its like to be Zlatan. To teach his brand of physicality and intimidation could bide well with our young and physical team.

I can keep my screen name.

He could possibly fill the role of coming on four Mata at the 70 minn mark... Like Fellaini does.

He has a few things in his locker that make me think he'd be good in the #10 role (, as a sub)

Ibra still has plenty to offer. The key will be Mourinho getting the rotation right. That's somewhere he struggled last season. Having two proven strikers in the square should be a good thing for us.

Get him on board on the coaching side after he retires. If he can pass on 10% of his nous and self belief to younger players he'll be worth his weight in gold (which is less than we paid him last year).

Nothing wrong with giving him a contract till the end of the season... That was always the plan before injury. Anything more than that would be daft... Though not surprising...

If he's happy to be a bit part player, no problem. If not, it will end in tears

The whole ego thing is just Zlatan having a laugh i think. Very tongue in cheek.

I'm glad at least one person noticed...

Anyone who thinks that Jose would sign Zlatan and then tell Lukaku that he will play second fiddle to the Swede has been at the funny pills again. We did not spend £75m on a bench warmer.
