Are they really any good?
Weve been linked with draxler recently although no doubt just paper talk but it got me thinking of German players in general, and are they really that good?
You look at bayern, and a large portion of their starting 11 arent german.
Ozil is probably one of the better players but even he blows hot and cold.
Reus is probably the most talented, but noone has ever made a real effort to sign him, although that could be injury related.
Gotze was meant to be the next big thing but flopped at bayern.
If the runours were true, could draxler be a success?

All of them would make the United squad though.
Neuer is better than De Gea.
Ter Stegen would be 3rd choice behind those two but ahead of Romero.
United are short at LB so there must be a German LB who would at least make the squad.
Henrichs is a RB with loads of potential, going to be better than Darmian anyway who is second choice RB when not playing on the left.
Kroos would play.
Goretzka i think is better than Herrera but would easily improve the CM options over Fellaini, Weigl would be a replacement for Carrick in the squad.
Muller would be a great option from the bench.
Draxler would take Youngs place. Reus would improve upon Lingard.
Plenty of Germans that would come in and improve United.

Neuer
Ter Stegen
Hummels
Boateng
Muller
Weigl
Goretzka
Kroos
Henrichs
Werner
All would get a place in the United squad plus probably a few more

Ozil and a fit Reus.

Boateng and Hummels are two of the best CB's in the world currently at club level
Neuer is the best keeper. Ter Stegen isn't too far off.
Kroos and Goretzka are top CMs and there are plenty talented youngsters tipped for breakout seasons.
Also according to Stretty so is Mario Gomez
Would have no worries signing a German based on a few fairweather performers like Ozil and Gotze

Not sure why you'd put Goetze and Ozil in the same sentence. I know Ozil is always everybody's favourite scape goat in Arsenal (myself included sometimes), but in 2 of his 4 seasons at Arsenal (the middle 2), he's been our best performer.

Youre always gonna get some to come in and make up squad places, but this is a team that has won so much internationally recently.
Surely with a team that has won that much, youd expect more than just a couple who could come into a starting 11 and really make a difference.
Thats the point of my post, individually, are they really that good?
A lot of what your listing are replacing players who many deem arent good enough anyway

Hector would get games for us at left back, no doubt.

Let's start from you naming international sides that you think have great players and let's maybe compare them to Germany.

Still don't see how those squads are any better than Germany's. I would have more German players than those teams. Germany also seems a lot more balanced from front to back than all those sides bar Brazil. Argentina and France are rather top-heavy with strikers. Spain with midfielders. Germany and Brazil are the best balanced teams around right now.
Brazil needs a little more craft in midfield. Germany need a little more firepower. But they're the best 2 sides at the moment. If Brazil play the way they've been playing through the South American qualies at the World Cup, they'll be a real threat.

They tend to have players who have fairly unremarkable club careers but legendary international ones. Klose and Podolski are obvious recent examples.

I think is kind of the point of the article, despite Germany having a lot of talented players.
