Everton

Looked strong and were guilty of not killing City off last night,

they look very compact and young calvert lewin provided and excellent outlet, they are not however blessed with pace in abundance, they seem quit functional and comfortable of the ball but this is where we can disrupt them and ultimately win on Sunday

I cant see Hazard being back however we will have pedro who is a big loss when out the team.

I can see us reverting back to a 343 however I do think that the 352 deployed by conte with Luiz making up a 3rd midfielder worked very well but I think more so when we are in a game where we know we are underdogs.

My main concern is Morata and Bats, bats has never been good enough to lead the line but I think he is a superior finisher in the box, Morata simply isn't a striker that we are used to playing with, technically he is a nice little player and will certainly need time but he looked isolated up top, completely unable to make any impact in the game, missed a sitter and his hold up play which he has to do at the very least was very poor.

its a position where we are light now that costa is gone, and I am pleased to see us seemingly still chasing players like Bellotti

team

tbo
Christiansen Luz Azpi
moses baka Kante Alonso
willian Morata pedro

Their whole defence is so slow and vulnerable when isolated, except for Holgate (even then he played RWB and if he does against us as some sort of big game thing for Everton they have nothing going forward on that side). Scnheiderlin is a loss

but were on top for a large period of the game and didn't push on to get a second
------------
I don't think you watched the game last night

My thoughts exactly

City were the better team throughout the game and only failed to win due to poor finishing.

Everton's entire strategy was focussed on not losing, even after City went down to 10 men.

Everton will finish no higher than 6th in my opinion and that is providing they keep Rooney fit.

Mons...

We were set up to defend agst Spurs. morata had no service, we will not normally play that way, you picked the wrong match to start analyzing him .

Yeah City battered Everton whilst a man down. Baffled by the way Koeman set up after City were a man down.

It will be a tough game as I think they're a lot stronger defensively compared to last season.

They were a man up for an hour and still didn't look the better side. City still had 65% posession! There is absolutely no way Everton will finish higher than 6th at best this season. More likely 7th. They're just not nearly good enough.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You're presuming this is our final squad, Koeman has already stated he wants another 2 players, and we also had Sandro missing, add all them equations together and the fact our players have had little time to gel, you may see a totally different side come November.

Alas,
Unfortunately your excuse doesn't fly, every team can use your excuse throughout the season.
Watching the game, in the second half it looked like Everton was a man down not City?

Two possible reasons:
- Lack of player fitness of Everton players?
- Poor management strategy by Koeman? Everton was obviously playing not to lose, rather than playing to win. They were very fortunate not to lose!

We're 2 games in, and have the same points as 4th place ffs. Every man and his dog has told it will take time for the side to gel. We've got a point more than expected.

I wonder how important that late sending off yesterday will be for Everton. Schneiderlin is a good player.
If Conte reverts to the usual 3-4-3 (assuming Bakayoko is fit enough now) then I can see Morata getting more support upfront and creating more questions for the Everton defence. It will be a tight competitive game though - as most PL games are nowadays.
