I always wonder about these initiatives to save money on the NHS by making us healthier. All that happens is we become a burden on the NHS later in life. The state also has to pay pensions if we live longer.
If I were in government I would be promoting less healthy lifestyles. Think of the money the NHS loses since the smoking ban.

It's a double-edged sword; not only do I have to subsidise the continued existence of the likes of Mapdini and Spurt, but their inane ramblings also make my own life seem much longer than it actually is.

The envy of people who will die before they can pick up a pension.
Everyone who has a state pension is subsidised by those still working as the state pension is really a giant ponzi scheme. It relies on people making contributions and then dying before they can collect their pension. Trouble is people are living too long so they have to keep raising the pension age.
