Orta

On the evidence so far, Orta's erasing
any doubt we had, when he came in.

Saiz and Alioski alone he gets an A+.

Has he learnt from Boro days?

Were there more issues at Boro than
just him. Was he ever the problem there?

He's obviously brought scouting with him.

For me he's done brilliant.

Keep it up.

Alioski B+

Disagree, Shaun, Alioski is growing with each game and is worth A+!

Respect you Shaun, but, not a B+. He's better than that.

I voiced concerns about orta's time at Boro. I have some concerns about all the 4 year contracts dished out. I think Saiz looks a terrific footballer (only slight concern is a couple of comments about his workrate... hopefully fitness not attitude related), I have an open mind still on Alioski, klich, wiedwald and the others.

As for the u23 signings? Well its a slow burner to see whether that helps make the transition from u23s to first team simpler and whether a foreign influx at that age group stifles local development or stimulates it.

Way too early (for me) to get carried away, but if more signings come good than flop i'll be absolutely delighted to give orta the thumbs up.

Be interesting to bookmark this for January, hopefully we're all just as positive then.

Sorry bat's, respect you all night return but until he bangs a few things he's b plus for me. Saiz is another level atm. Superb piece of business.

Milky, 4 year contracts are a bind, but there is also sound thinking behind them. You create a club where players feel they belong, even if they aren't playing every match, every week. You remove the anxiety from them about what happens next, and give them the opportunity to compete and improve as players with us. I do not know if this costs us a lot of money when it doesn't work out, because contracts are so negotiable anyway, but it will create a togetherness at LUFC that we have not had for a long time.
