Nett spend zero?

I hope I am wrong, but it looks as if we are paying the price for no Champions League revenue and the transfer fee sacrifices for Alexis and Ozil. And if, as seems likely the Ox goes for say £30million, plus whatever we get for Perez and co, Arsenal could end the transfer window in profit. I am praying for some more reinforcements, but that seems unlikely. Wenger is gambling for Champions League qualification by keeping Alexis and Ozil, with the added firepower from Lacazette. Will that be enough? Thats the Managers gamble. Whatever, Arsenal are being very businesslike on the money side. Kroenke must be a happy man to have secured Wenger for another couple of years. Arsene is great on finance. An owners dream; but what on earth is happening on the football pitch? Right back playing on the left. Left back playing in the middle. Substitutions which no one can understand. Is Wenger still a competent Manager or the new Financial Director? I think he is confused.

The window isn't finished and they are guaranteed to spend another £80 -£100M before next Thursday whereas we all know what Wenger will do

You'd moan it was panic buying if we signed anyone in the last week
Chelsea don't do big net spends anyway. Who are they being linked with? Drinkwater and Vardy??
Biggest rumour around them is their manager is going to walk out.

The 'war chest' stories are always total crap. It's just positive sounding PR put around by the club to the fans to make us feel better over the summer and less critical. I don't believe that kind of money is ever made available without making some sales. But I think Wenger is happy to go along with it as well, and try get players on the cheap.

We have a huge squad full of dross.

We really need to sell before we buy but we stupidly overpay our dross, even those who signed contracts before this latest money explosion in football are still so overpaid by todays standards that not one wants them

Don't understand why we're so willing to hand out money for average players wages, but yet often won't pay a little more for quality players. Bit like how Wenger always says he's only after super quality players, but then signs, silvestre, Gabriel, santos, Elneny, squiliaci, sanogo, Gervinho and so on and so on. Hardly anything makes sense at this club!!

Not surprising, Wenger only wants to do the bare minimum to get the top 4 trophy back.

He said today he's happy with the strength of his squad. His concern now is selling
