It was a nice idea making the champions of europe's main leagues go straight into pot 1 but the problem then is you have some teams in there who are clearly not pot 1 material.
In years such as this where the same team won their domestic title and the CL you have the same amount of teams in there who arent pot 1 material then that are. The Manchester clubs have more chance of getting an easy group than Chelsea do, or at the very least it is an equal chance.
So my question is; what is the advantage of being in pot 1 for the teams who won their domestic leagues?

No - just a bit of intrigue with the draw.
The current format protects the big guns whereas no advantage would be best.

I think the current system with League champions of the best 8 leagues in Europe in Pot 1 is the fairest its been for a a while. If you win the title, you deserve a bit of a bonus really.

Imagine a group of Real Madrid, United, Liverpool and PSG?
Or Barca, Chelsea, Juve and Bayern
It would be incredible.
