Drinkwater hands in transfer request

Well that's that then.
Again, not too bothered as was bang average last season.
Would be far more worried to lose Vardy which hopefully won't happen
As for Mahrez....we shall see.

It's hardly hypocrisy, just a different set of circumstances. If Musa was to go for a sum that could be described as "negligible", we'd be losing:
- Someone who has (at least thus far) been a flop as compared to a success;
- Someone who is not one of our best players as compared to someone who is;
- Someone who other players, if they were honest with themselves, would feel does not improve the squad as compared to someone who does.

Whereas we know Drinkwater's capabilities (very likely to succeed), what we've seen of Musa so far suggests that he's very likely not to succeed.

Let's estimate as follows:

Chance of Drinkwater succeeding for us in the future = 75% (ish)
Chance of Drinkwater replacement succeeding for us in the future (depending on amount of money received) = 60%
Chance of Musa replacement succeeding for us in the future (assuming less money received) = 45%
Chance of Musa succeeding for us in the future
= 30%
All a guess but more to illustrate a point than some sort of mathematical calculation.

But even with this generous assessment of Musa, it's still worth moving him and using the money to hunt for a replacement, whereas the percentages for replacing Drinkwater are far less favourable. Built up over time, you've got to play these percentages in order to get success.

You talk like a new signing would be 100% guaranteed to be worth the money we paid for him, whereas most of what we signed at the beginning of last season clearly hasn't been.

As for Slimani, my heart is always a bit saddened when you insinuate that we're all racists. But regardless, he's kind of a grey area and it's complicated. Which side of the new-signing-success percentage line does he fall? The reason for the differences in opinion is that it's probably a very close run thing.

My racist view of Slimani is that he's neither failed nor succeeded at our club after we've clearly not played to his strengths.

He's a goalscorer that could do well elsewhere.

However, he doesn't fit in with our style of play and I've heard very questionable things about his attitude and impact on other players (Mahrez).

Based on that, I'd be happy for him to leave. One of those "not adding to the sum of the parts" debates.

Not too fussed if he goes, weve not done that bad without him so far this season.

Just as long as we get what we want for him ( 40 million)
and get a suitable replacement, and therein lies the problem.

I'm not dissapointed that he has put in a transfer request. Its the timing of it thats appalling. You dont just suddenly become unhappy at a club 3 days before the end of the transfer window. He is obviously trying to engineer a move on the cheap. The problem is now at this late stage its more difficult to get a replacement.

Hope he enjoys it at Chelsea and hope their subs bench is comfortable and hope they dont go out of the league cup in the next round. Or will he make a miraculous recovery for Chelseas next game, his reception will be interesting.

Stick out for 40 million.

It wouldn't sadden me if we lost Musa, King, Ulloa and Mendy in this transfer window.

So I'm clearly a racist against black people, Spaniards and Welshmen.

I'd like to keep Slimani and Mahrez - muslim people are ok.

I also want to keep Drinkwater and Vardy - clearly I'm a fascist!

Is Argentina part of Spain?

Joby thinks all South Americans are Spanish like the big fascist racist he is....

My view on Slim is that he does not fit our style of play, never has the ball under control, can't lead the line. We should either change our style to suit (unlikely) or he should be sold first thing tomorrow morning along with Musa in some sort of buy one get one free deal.

Good point. Hispanic, Latin American - they're all the same to me.

So much speculation about Leicester players on Sky, I'm a bit concerned that it's all quiet on Vardy though.

I'd rather have reports that we've rejected an offer of £5 million from Man Utd than nothing at all.

PS I don't think he'd go anyway but it'd be a disaster if he did.
