I want him to stay, obviously, and so do the majority of LFC Fans. What I cannot understand is however, if he is staying why no-one apart from John Moores little recourse/reply has come out and made a definitive statement to put the matter to bed. I appreciate that we used to be secretive club re transfers, but this has gone on long enough, or is it a case of hanging on long enough to push the price through the roof or waiting for the time to be right to confirm what the Yahoo Football article said. I would be really worried if it was the Echo, not a small search engine trying to make a name for itself. Come on LFC Board, someone stand up and be counted tell Jurgen so he can make a statement and then we can all get on with our lives. YNWA

Maybe they have assured Klopp he won't be sold and they're all just enjoying watching the media circus while having a good laugh about it

Yahoo write a load of shiiite especially Darling and Castles, they don't know more than you and I, if the story is untrue you will hear no more, but if it's true they will say I told you so, I'm as frustrated as you but we will have to wait and see the out come.

A really interesting post, a well thought-out view of what is happening at our club.
With one exception.
Who in the fek is it about?
Couts, Sakho, neither, somebody else?

There’s only so many times it’s worth repeating “he’s not for sale”. They’ve rejected every offer so far within half an hour, and have refused to negotiate.
But you can never say never.
If they decide that Coutinho’s not going to be very committed if made to stay, then they may yet decide it’s not worth keeping him.
But I would guess, judging by FSG’s previous behaviour, that if they do make that decision, it’ll be on the condition that we get a replacement in first, and that if we don’t, there’ll be no deal. They're pretty firm about who's in control.
Who knows? None of us know exactly what Coutinho’s state of mind is, and that will be key.
For the moment, he’s still not for sale, and from what I’ve read, Barca are fast losing confidence they’ll get him.

Barca and the Spanish press will do every dirty trick in the book to get any player they want.

Your third paragraph hits the nail right on the thumb, Wessie.
If there no replacement already committed to filling the gap, areplacement who will be better than the one up for sale, then he ain't going anywhere.
I think it would take the recruitment of both Lemar and VvD for FSG to contemplate the sale of Couts at this time. Others may disagree but I think that would be the minimum of Reds being placated by the sale.
My main worry is that Lemar, a Barca groupie, will jump at the chance to go there and play with his hero, Messi.

My guess would be that if that happens, Coutinho stays.
I'm fine with it either way, tbh.

I'm fairly confident that he's going nowhere & when the window closes he'l knuckle down and put in a good shift just like Suarez did.
The reason I believe this is because he has been dropped by Brazil due to not being match fit so his 'bad back' antics appear to have backfired and he must now realise that he needs to be playing to guarantee a place in the Brazil WC squad.
Also, if Barca do buy Lemar then they can throw him in as a makeweight as part of any deal for Coutinho next summer.
