A reply

FSG are to be congratulated, certainly by Reds, in their forthright way and manner in rejecting, continuously, offers, some of them quite ludicrous, from Barca in their attempts to secure Couts' signature.

Not only has even SAF - no supporter of Liverpool FC - come out and praised the way our owners have stood up against the Spaniards and their apparent devious manipulation of the Spanish Press in order to during pressure on them to sell, but throughout British football, there has been a quiet appreciation of how matter have been conducted by the club.

However, and with no fourth offer being made by Barca, they've come out and claimed that LFC contacted them in the last day demanding €200M no less, and that they, Barca refused to be treated in such a disgraceful manner, refusing to succumb to such outrageous behaviour.

Perish the thought.

While at times I've admired our club's refusal even to reply to Barca offers - it makes it a bit tricky should any further dealings between the clubs takes place - I am of the view that this claim of contact, and/or demand for the 200M requires a response.

While, as Wenger has said in the last 24 hours, such negotiations need to be kept confidential, there needs to be a response by the club, hopefully rubbishing Barca's claims in order to dig themselves out of the sh 1 t by failing to handle the Neymar debacle you trying to put the blame on our club.

Always makes me laugh when United fans get on their moral high horses.

Barca are full of Sh*te it looks to have got a bit personal between the clubs which hopefully will mean we resist selling player to them in the future. They never sell us players that improve us so no great loss.

I think it's brilliant when they want your best player and offer you peanuts & a pick of 2 of the worst players they've got on they're books.

Even dogs knew De Gea wanted to leave. United strung him along all summer and duped him so that he didn't need to put in a transfer request.

I prefer Liverpool's style where we tell the player he won't be sold from the get go. United on the other hand facked De Gea in the arris with a hot rod and when queried they put it down to a broken fax machine.

Basically, they treated him like sheet so well done Liverpool on that one.

We'll see how happy Coutinho is in a few weeks.

I have a feeling he will be absolutely fine, but we'll see.

Took him a few weeks though.. who could blame him, he was already in Madrid, with his signing suit donned ready for the transfer to be rubber stamped.

Doubt he was enamoured with having to tear it off, see the contract shredded and have to get back to dreary Manchester

(And then watch Real Madrid win the champions league!!)

Yeah but how did he feel on 1 September 2015? Considerably different I imagine.

My thoughts are with Coutinho. Despite of FSG's reluctance to sell the player on EYI ( equal yearly instalments) to one of the best and great clubs in Europe they could have done nothing but sell him had Coutinho chose Payet's path and went on strike.

You should applaud Coutinho more on this occasion than your owners.
