Dear oh dear...how on earth did we get into this mess with Costa...this could derail our season if we aren't careful, I can't see either the club or the player backing down on this.
If Costa holds out and get's his move without us getting either the right fee or having our pound of flesh for breach of contract, this could lead to something like a Bosman style ruling down the line for all players.
The fly in the ointment could be the text that Conte is supposed to have sent to Costa basically saying he's not in his plans...if indeed it even exists, will it even stand up in court...?
Conte surely has no actual legal input into transfers so it's hard to say.
Athletico can't be happy with this situation either & if they want him back, surely it's in their interest to try to play the arbitraters in this, and get it sorted for January.

Was he not painted as one of the leaders of the dressing room with Hazard for getting Jose out?
Pretty clear he's a big personality. Pretty clear he's close with likes of Luiz, Cesc, Willian.

People keep going on about this text. Well here is the interesting thing.As far as I am aware:
Costa has never claimed that the text messgae from Conte was the first time he was told he was not in Conte's plans.
The club has twice stated in public that they notified Costa and his agent in January that Costa was not in their plans for 2017/2018 season. Costa nor his agent has never denied this or claimed Chelsea were lying.

Exactly. Let the simpletons obsess over one text if they want. Doesn't change the fact that there is so much more to this than one text and it this whole saga goes back to January at least.
