Nice one Antonio!

No decent evidence to support this other than a certain Mr J Barton Esquire - but it did make me laugh!

Well played Antonio

The Ox storming off to Southampton 'B' because Le Ar$e wouldn't let him lose in central midfield.

It's like me leaving a hospital porters job, because they wouldn't let me be the brain surgeon!

In all seriousness Mr'C', the whole affair comes across as a little weird.

I mean, why would you bid that much for an average player, who as Content, said is apparently injured until at least November, when you could pick him up in January for a KFC bargain bucket and a picture of Bobby Charlton.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Chelsea didn't really want Barkley on deadline day, they made a high bid to only thwart Spurs after we had beaten them to Fernando Llorente earlier that day

This was just a bitter ploy by Chelsea to force Spurs to either overbid or lose one of their targets in that window.

As the player was injured Spurs were always to come back in for him in Jan for a lower price

I'd just like to go on record as thanking JA606s resident fortune teller for his input.

Cheers Geez

Will your signing of Llorente boost your flagging ticket sales?

Maybe when you get Barkley, you might sell out a home game this season?

To me this story is just another example of how incompetent we are. If it is true that Ox decided against coming to Chelsea because he wanted to play centrally and Conte told him he wanted Ox to play as a wingback - I think that's a good thing for all concerned. Conte was honest about his plans for Ox, and Ox apparently wants to play in a different position. That's good for everyone. There's no point Ox joining us under the false pretense that he is going to be able to play centrally. He will no doubt be happier at Liverpool - and Chelsea won't have an unhappy player (not to mention a terrible one if you ask me).

So the management at Chelsea specifically asking Conte NOT to speak to Barkley was incredibly stupid (albeit I don't see a future for Barkley at Chelsea anyway). But keeping the coach away from speaking to potential players is very short-sighted. They need to speak to each other to see if they are agreed on how they will play. It concerns me that these people are the ones representing Chelsea.
