Leeds Utd v Birmingham City Matchday Thread

Welcome to the Matchday Thread, Still buzzing after Saturdays game and hoping to see the same spirit carried on to a Tuesday Night ..............
So a visit from Arry and Brum to what is fast becoming Fortress Elland Road once again with over 31000 Fans expected for a Tuesday Night game

Team News
Leeds United
Thomas Christiansen is set to make minimal changes to his Leeds team for the Sky Bet Championship clash with Birmingham following their 5-0 demolition of Burton on Saturday.
Pierre-Michel Lasogga is likely to retain his place in attack after scoring twice on his debut while Ezgjan Alioski is pushing for a recall after being an unused substitute due to fatigue from international duty with Macedonia.

Pawel Cibicki is still waiting to make his debut but Gaetano Berardi is not yet match fit following his dislocated shoulder, while midfielder Eunan O'Kane showed no ill-effects from a groin injury suffered during the international break with the Republic of Ireland. On-loan Everton defender Matthew Pennington (ankle) and striker Caleb Ekuban (foot) remain on the sidelines.

Birmingham
Birmingham boss Harry Redknapp has no fresh injury worries for the trip to Elland Road. Redknapp handed six players their debuts in Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Norwich while Che Adams returned from a hamstring injury in the second half.
Forward Isaac Vassell and defender Carl Jenkinson remain sidelined for Blues, who have lost their last four games in all competitions. Vassell is out with a hamstring injury while Jenkinson has undergone an operation on his shoulder.

Opta stats
Leeds have kept one clean sheet in their last 19 matches against Birmingham in all competitions, with Paddy Kenny the goalkeeper to do so in a 4-0 win in October 2013.
That 4-0 defeat in 2013 is the Blues' only defeat in their last seven trips to Elland Road in all competitions (W4 D2).
Thomas Christiansen is the 12th manager in as many matches to be in charge of Leeds at home to Birmingham in a league match, a run that stretches back to December 1987 when Leeds were managed by Billy Bremner.
Birmingham City have lost their last three league games - they haven't lost four in a row since April 2014 (a run of five). On that occasion, the fourth defeat in that run was against Leeds.
Leeds haven't lost a home match on a Tuesday in any competition since September 2015, winning seven and drawing seven since a 1-0 defeat to Ipswich under Uwe Rosler.

So with Brum sitting down in the scary part of the table I expect Old Arry will be looking to frustrate us and get at least a point, .........................I think he might be a wee bit disappointed................................. I'm for a 3-0 Win with Roofe and Alioski scoring either side of Lasogga's screamer

Over to You......................................Predictions, Scorers usual stuff.................................

Come Onnnnnnnnnnnn Leeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeds!!!

Oh jeez that was nervy. Seeing the stats though, it definitely felt more nervy during the game, than it probably was

We didn't look great tonight. It was a little like the back end of last season, struggling to keep possession and relying on some heroic defending to keep a clean sheet. However we had quality off the bench and won a game we didn't play well in, so gotta be happy.

Back end of last season? Relying on the defence because we struggled to keep possession was most of last season.

Sometimes you just have to play gritty football and see the game out on cold, rainy nights, though.

Tall, please bear in mind I was at the game also.

This was my fourth time at Elland Road and all games were wins, so I am a lucky omen, perhaps.

You will have to go when I am not there.

My next game is Ipswich so come to improve your odds of seeing another win!

A two handed nail biter this one.

Was it fatigue or are teams going to have us sussed out much better going forward?

Definitely fortunate to have one that and it felt like my £40 winnings were hard earned!
