Whilst the more egregious members of our forum are saving themselves for the love train to Cardiff, we have the matter of a tough away trip to the tidy outfit of Bristol City.
Going into this game, the Faithful will hoping for a repeat of the Hull performance, which would be nice. Changes abound which may see Wisdom replace Baird and a total wiping of the team that managed an ignominious defeat to Barnsley in the EFL Cup.
BJ has now scored as many goals this season - 3 - as he did in his previous 33 games. He's on 🔥. George may be on the bench and should make a cameo.
We've not lost to Bristol City in our last 8 games since losing back in 2011. Interestingly we have not conceded from a set piece in a league game since the opening day of the season. Alright, not very interesting.
Anything to add, I will put on. I shall be incommunicado tomorrow on Dads taxi duty to universities in the north west 🤓
See how long the one ⭐️ bandit takes 🤔
Team news to follow
Bristol City 4 - 1 Derby County 🙄

I saw an Owls fan on twitter earlier saying he's played for us less than an hour and he looks totally 5hit!

The gloves are off from POTY
BCFC I'm confused did LJ say having money was what caused the mid season slump or not having it? Did you bring in lots of players in the January window?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sorry - I've just read my post again and it's not clear. Let me explain.......
Lee Johnson is and always has been a 'marmite' character with a certain contingent of the City fans. There were a significant minority of the fans who accused the club of nepotism when his dad, Gary was our manager (now manager of Cheltenham Town). He used to put him in the team and they thought he wasn't good enough. Of course, nepotism or not, we made the playoff final that season - the closest we have been to the top flight since the 1980s.
Since Gary Johnson left we were a bit of a yoyo club - switching between L1 and the Championship - never managing to stay in the 2nd tier longer than 1 season.
Then, after a succession of managers, we got Steve Cottrill, with whom we absolutely romped L1, playing some lovely football and also winning the Mickey Mouse cup to boot.
As soon as the next season kicked off we struggled big time - Cottrill discovered that the Championship was not a league you could play 3-5-2 formation in and rip teams apart every game. We got found out quickly - but Cottrill had no plan B so we played the same every game and were staring relegation in the face.
Cottrill was eventually sacked and his assistant John Pemberton was put in interim charge while a successor was chosen.
Pemberton steadied the ship and climbed us clear of the drop zone - then LJ was appointed.
The minority contingent I mentioned earlier above were outraged - and the rest of us were not really impressed either - he was unproven and we had all loved Steve Cottrill and John Pemberton for giving us our wonderful promotion season - although of course if we hadn't changed we would have been back in L1.
There was politics afoot too - under Cottrill we made some stupid bids for Andre Gray and another striker who's name escapes me. Both bids were rejected but there were rumours about the board overriding bids and interfering with players that we were targeting. Some people thought that Cotts was stitched up by the board.
Anyway, LJ arrived and immediately seemed to have money to spend. We did ok at first but after we played Cardiff away (Warnocks first game in charge) the wheels came off and we went on a losing streak which broke our club records. The knives were out and there was anger and bemusement at the board for not taking action - when they sacked Cottrill quite readily.
Anyway, the board stuck with LJ and sacked Pemberton - who as I stated earlier was popular with the fans.
However, that seemed to be the turning point and we recovered quite strongly in the end - beating Brighton at their place and ruining their promotion party!
Right now we are all quite happy - but a couple of defeats will open all those old wounds and the knives will be out again.
I hope I haven't bored you with this rather long post - but that should explain things

Yep always good to hear the ups m downs of other clubs. I think Lee Johnson was on loan here for a bit and to be fair did okay but I remember him dividing opinion amongst your lot then.
Coterill I remember achieved the impossible at Forest In keeping them from returning to their rightful place in league one. Then they got a rich owner and their fickle fans turned on their own man and threw him to the lions. Glad he picked himself up again ironically their manager now is experimenting with 3 at the back.

Thanks for your posts, R&W, interesting to read them and nice to have a sensible opinion from the oppo.
Look forward to hearing from you in January when you come to PP. Wonder what our respective situations will be then.
If it gets too lonely on the BC board, feel free to pop in and give us an update

Zzzz - just kidding, that was interesting.
So similar to the Clough name at Derby, Johnson appears to be treated with similar royalty? ( The achievements of the two contrasting, of course)
Johnson JR has done well and I have to be honest I thought he was a dead duck given your poor run last season. Based on what I saw yesterday, Bristol City seem to have created a hard working side with some good youth players.
They certainly do seem to have an eye for a good raw striker. Your no. 45 impressed me and my friend, the French striker is built like Crouch but with the heading abilities of Drogba / Lukaku. Well that's how he looked against Derby!
I forgot Lee Johnson played for us briefly.

Cheers chaps
Some of us are on Not606 if you fancy popping over. There is a Derby section but it's about as lonely as the Bristol City JA606 board is here!!
There's also OTIB (One Team in Bristol) which is VERY active, but I'm not sure non City fans are able to post on that one.

Further to my big post above, if you pop over here you will see that the great LJ debate is still alive and kicking - despite the start we have had to the season so far!!!
