Time to be worried?

Shakespeare's side have now won just one of their past eight Premier League games.

Dunge, I'm with you, I am. I hate arrogance from fans who get above their station and think that because they won a title once against all the odds, they deserve to win it every year.

Bit still. You can look at a team of players that (bar 2 key players) did win the league get outplayed by the newly promoted play-off winners, you have to ask questions.

I have questions. The main one being "can we find a way of being an actual team without Okazaki"?! Because love King all you like, but today 2 championship midfielders from last year made him look like a schoolboy.

I think we have to earn the right to play and win against any team. Huddersfield have started the season well and an away point against them is decent even if the performance may not have been.

I do, however, think it's frustrating for people that following the title win and 3 transfer windows that we're still starting games with the likes of Andy King. Nobody expected us to build another title winning side, but we might reasonably have expected to increase the depth of our squad off the back of it. Thus making us a more established and sustainable PL club.

Our recruitment last season was dreadful and we may have lost forever any momentum we might have built from the title win. Our recruitment in this last window seemed much better and then Iborra gets injured and Silva gets delayed.

Meanwhile we're still starting games with Andy King in the side.

King great pro works hard but the fact we had to play him today as a starting CM and we are still relying on a injury prone James show that either the recruitment is wrong or the manager is asking for the wrong players.

Slim get one chance as is hated Vardy misses an absolute sitter ............Silence.....or as on twitter richard heads saying Marhez over hit it LOL.

Marhez was surrounded by three players at time creating space for others nothing happened Albrighton playing as a DM not a winger. Cherwell Ndidi et al first touch pathetic at times.. BUT and its a big but Big shout out to Hudderfield who showed how to do a Leicester also realised Kasper wasn't coming off his line so put early balls behind the back four into the corridor of uncertainty.

Great save from Kasper and the header towards the end before you think im knifing him as if.

Nev, I think you might want to have a word with your mate Stringer. He was absolutely slating Slimani from the minute he came on. It was pretty cringeworthy to listen to. Slim was poor but it hardly helps when we don't play to his strengths.

Agree on Slimani. Wrong sub wrong time yesterday. Okazaki had just begun to make a difference with Vardy and then we brought Vardy off.

And then to top it off we started holding balls to slimani's chest.

Frustrating all round really. I wish we'd seen Okazaki at half time. My first real criticism of Shakespeare.

As the thread was about results I'll respond in kind - we have lost the games this season we would have been expected to lose, won the game we would have been expected to win and drew the game we would have been expected to draw, IMO.

If we were to carry on in this vain (in terms of winning and drawing the games we should do) we would finish in mid-table - so no, not overly concerned just yet. Although admittedly, it's disappointing to not have got a couple more points.

I look at it this way, if we had held on to something at arsenal (particularly a win), we aren't having this conversation - and if one result alone can change an opinion about the bigger picture, things aren't at panic stations yet.

Improvements needed though.

The OPs stat made me have a look, go back 2 more games and it's 3 wins in 10.

Not much better you'd think but the 5 losses were ONLY against top 7 sides, in fact while Shakey has been in charge we have ONLY lost to a top 7 Side.

KTF

youve stolen my thunder. Thats exactly what I was going to say.

Brilliant post.

Lets see how we are after a few more games, before giving Shakey a Corporal Jones Dont Panic

Now if I was a Palace fan, no points,no goals, against who theyve played, and just appointed Woy as manager, I might panic.
