Of course he isn't defunct of responsibility but I thought he looked dangerous at times, injected some pace into the game but was as off the pace as the rest.

Just don't think he deserves so much more vilification than the rest of the team.

In fairness I'm more frustrated that Woodburn even came on when we have Sturridge, Firmino, Salah available (not sure they were even on the bench).

We should have gone out to win it.

My assessment:

First half, very good football box to box, poor final pass/movement/shot meant we didn't score the goals the box to box football merited. Had we got one it probably would have been an easy night.

Second half without Coutinho our level instantly dropped, and theirs went up particularly with Okazaki as his workrate meant they could compete in the midfield battle where Slimani and Ulloa had done nothing to help.

I suspected they would win when he came on.

We didn't do a great deal wrong on their first goal. Midfield needed to support defence more as Okazaki in acres of space, Robertson didn't quite get there.

2nd goal very annoying as from a throw in again. Midfield doesn't switch on. Great strike from Slimani who was invisible for the rest of the game.

Lots of decent performances. Robertson good, just needs to sharpen up, get shots off quicker, find a player a bit more rather than play into areas. He's clearly got something though.

Grujic was decent I thought. Needs to watch his fouls but he's a good footballer.

Solanke is great outside the box. Needs to score goals though. He's kind of the opposite of Origi. Origi looks garbage sometimes but gets goals. I'm not sure when Solanke is going to score. He looks a nearly man at the moment.

Coutinho waslooking forward to seeing him, Salah, Mane, Firmino real soon.

Woodburn did some wonderful things too.

Ox was meh, sadly. He's the first Klopp transfer I have really been worried about and so far he hasn't assuaged my worries.

I said before the game I wouldn't be too bothered if we get knocked out so I will stick with that. This is a huge time for the Klopp era now though you feel.

He needs a win. This is his team now, mostly his players in the squad. 4 without a win, the pressure will ramp up if that becomes 5, 6 whatever.

I think he's great but fans are fickle and the media are more so and he is going to be under big pressure if we lose again at the weekend.
