No brainer for me getting Ledley, I'd expect Johnson to play wide left for Wiemann and Ledley to slot in to midfield, makes me happier

Cant see Bennet ever making it at Derby. If he were made available for loan would another Championship club or even league one club want him? Doubtful

Bennett does we'll in the U23's and his form there warrants a call up to the first team squad. But time and again he has failed to take his opportunity. At 16 he had a bright future. Now at 21 he's made 32 appearances for us plus another 32 out on loan at Bradford, Chesterfield and Burton. He has scored 3 times.
It's not a good return on our investment and I fail to see the sense in giving him a new deal. The message to the young players should be. You'll get your chance but if you don't cut it your gone.

Do you think he's good enough to start Vidal?

I saw him start in a couple of pre-season friendlies against lower-league opposition and he was 5hit.

I would not start him at the moment but I think he is more likely to create something than JR or Weimann. They have other qualities which he doesn't. I thought he did quite well against Kidderminster pre-season. I dispute the idea he has been given a lot of chances, that's all. I think he is worth a new contract because he should at least be able to develop into a player who can command a fee of sorts if and when he is sold. I think this season is crucial for him as Rowett has said. He ought to get a bit of game time on a reasonably regular basis and hopefully with a settled line-up around him. We will have to see.

It's strange how you see a player make a promising debut at a really young age and not go on to fulfill their possible potential.I suppose they can't all be Rooney.

It isn't often we sign a player as young as Bennett and if we do they have either played plenty of games for their club or we stick them in the development squad. It's disappointing that Bennett hasnt done anything of note when loaned out but he is still a young lad and clearly Rowett think he is not yet ready for the knacker's yard.
